During periods such as fairs, congresses, concerts, events, sports tournaments, etc., hotels may be used farther than the stated km distances. Triple rooms may be provided depending on hotel availability, and in such rooms, the bed offered to the 3rd person may be smaller than standard beds. Triple rooms consist of 1 large bed and 1 extra bed. Since extra beds are folding beds or coach beds, participants making reservations for a 3rd person and/or child are deemed to have accepted the possible cramped conditions in the rooms and the type of bed. Child discounts are valid for only one (1) child staying with 2 adults and matching the age group specified in the pricing section. Breakfasts included in the tour program are served at the hotel in accordance with the breakfast culture of the country visited and generally as a limited menu called continental breakfast, consisting of butter, jam, bread, tea or coffee, and may be served in a separate hall allocated to the group.
CURRENCY
The currency of Nepal is the Nepalese Rupee. (NPR)
It is useful to have US Dollars (USD) with you. Although credit card use is quite common, caution should be exercised against credit card fraud.
TIME ZONE
It is 2.5 hours ahead of Türkiye. When it is 12:00 in Türkiye, it is 14:30 in India.
PHONE USAGE
All mobile phone operators can be used if your phone has international roaming enabled. However, there may be no network in some parts of the country.
CLOTHING AND REQUIRED ITEMS
We recommend that you bring T-shirts that you can easily put on and take off, short- and long-sleeved shirts, shorts and cotton trousers, comfortable walking shoes, and a light jacket for the evenings. In addition, you may also bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, earplugs against possible noise, a camera, a video camera, their chargers, and spare memory cards.
FOOD CULTURE
Nepalese cuisine is close to our taste. Since we will have our meals at our hotel and at the best restaurants, you will not encounter any problems; in addition, we will have the opportunity to obtain bottled water everywhere we go. We should never consume openly sold food or tap water. Since the hotels where we will stay are high-level facilities in terms of health information, these risks are minimal.
ELECTRICITY
Generally 200-220 V is used. In India, British-type three-pin sockets are used. Many socket types are compatible with the two-pin plugs we use. In places where the sockets do not fit, universal plug adapters sold in electronics stores can be purchased to avoid problems.
SHOPPING
In Kathmandu and its surroundings, you can buy traditional Nepalese handicrafts, pashmina products, handwoven shawls, Thangka paintings reflecting Tibetan and Nepalese culture, meditation bowls, incense, decorative products with wood and metalwork, as well as local tea and spice varieties. Especially the Thamel area is one of the prominent shopping areas with souvenir shops and local product options. Around Patan and Bhaktapur, traditional handicrafts and local works of art can be found. Although bargaining is common in small shops and markets, it is recommended to check the quality and originality of valuable or handmade products.
