Nepalese cuisine is close to our taste. We should never consume openly sold food or tap water. Since the hotels where we will stay are high-level facilities in terms of health information, these risks are minimal.

ELECTRICITY

Generally 200-220 V is used. In India, British-type three-pin sockets are used. Many socket types are compatible with the two-pin plugs we use. In places where the sockets do not fit, universal plug adapters sold in electronics stores can be purchased to avoid problems.

SHOPPING

In Kathmandu and its surroundings, you can buy traditional Nepalese handicrafts, pashmina products, handwoven shawls, Thangka paintings reflecting Tibetan and Nepalese culture, meditation bowls, incense, decorative products with wood and metalwork, as well as local tea and spice varieties. Especially the Thamel area is one of the prominent shopping areas with souvenir shops and local product options. Around Patan and Bhaktapur, traditional handicrafts and local works of art can be found. Although bargaining is common in small shops and markets, it is recommended to check the quality and originality of valuable or handmade products.

Tour Program
Istanbul – Kathmandu
After meeting at Istanbul Airport International Terminal, we complete our baggage, ticket, and passport procedures and take our scheduled Turkish Airlines flight to Kathmandu. On our journey to the enchanting atmosphere of Nepal, we spend the night on the plane.
Katmandu – Nagarkot
Upon our arrival in Kathmandu, we are met at the airport and leave the area to have our buffet breakfast at a hotel near the airport. After our breakfast and a short rest, we begin our Kathmandu City Tour, the mysterious city of the Himalayas. Today we will visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, the cultural center of the city, home to many historical monuments including the former royal palace, the Golden Gate, and various temples. In this square, we will have the opportunity to closely see many historical structures and temples listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites, and we will admire the intricacies of Nepal’s traditional architecture. After the tour, we head to Nagarkot, located at an altitude of approximately 2,200 meters above sea level. In this region, famous for its panoramic views of the Himalayas, it is possible to see many peaks from a distance, especially Everest on clear days. Upon our arrival in Nagarkot, we transfer to our hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Nagarkot – Changunarayan Temple – Bhaktapur – Nagarkot
After breakfast at our hotel, free time. Guests who wish may join the optional Changu Narayan Temple and Bhaktapur Tour (70 USD), which will be arranged by our guide. We begin our tour by heading to Changu Narayan Temple. Changu Narayan, also known as Changu or Dolagiri, is situated on a high hill and is one of the most important sacred sites dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Surrounded by champak trees in a natural setting and nestled within the traditional fabric of Changu village, this temple is considered one of Nepal’s oldest temples and is highly revered by the Hindu community. After visiting the temple, we will take a walk from Changu Narayan to Telkot. In the continuation of our tour, we will go to Bhaktapur, also known as a museum of medieval art and architecture, where there are many sculptures, wood carvings, and enormous pagoda temples dedicated to different gods and goddesses. Bhaktapur Square is one of the most captivating architectural works in the valley due to its emphasis on Nepal’s ancient arts. Golden statues of kings perched atop stone monoliths, guardian deities overlooking their shrines, and wood carvings everywhere—brackets, lintels, posts, tympanums, gateways, and windows—seem to form a well-organized symphony. Pottery and weaving are still among the main traditional crafts that remain vibrant today. After our tour, following some free time, we will return to our hotel in Nagarkot. Overnight at our hotel.
Nagarkot – Patan – Boudhanath Temple – Pashupatinath – Kathmandu
Before breakfast, guests who wish may join a Yoga and Meditation session led by our private yoga instructor (40 USD). After refreshing our energy with yoga and meditation, we will visit Patan, one of the oldest settlements in the Kathmandu Valley, known as the “City of Fine Arts.” This historic center, distinguished by its rich architecture and craftsmanship, features stupa temples located throughout the city, believed to have been built by King Ashoka, one of the famous rulers of the era, reflecting Patan’s religious and cultural significance. In this city, where Hindu and Buddhist architecture can be seen side by side, there will also be an opportunity to find handmade objects and souvenirs produced using traditional methods. After our visit, we head to Boudhanath Temple and visit this sacred structure, which holds great importance for Buddhist monks. With its massive stupa architecture and surrounding monasteries, Boudhanath is considered one of the most important centers of Buddhism in Nepal. We then continue to Pashupatinath, one of the world’s most important Hindu temples. Here, we will closely observe the daily worship life of Hindus and have the opportunity to witness the traditional cremation ceremonies performed on the banks of the Bagmati River. After this visit, which offers especially striking scenes for photography enthusiasts, we transfer to our hotel in Kathmandu to rest after the day’s fatigue. Overnight at our hotel.
Kathmandu – Monkey Temple – Kathmandu
After breakfast at our hotel, we will have free time. Guests who wish may join the optional Monkey Temple “Swayambhunath” Tour (60 USD), to be organized by our guide. We depart from the hotel for our tour. Considered one of the oldest and most mysterious sacred sites in the Kathmandu Valley, this structure can be seen from many points of the valley with its tall white dome and shining golden spire. According to historical records on stone inscriptions, the stupa has been an important Buddhist pilgrimage center since the 5th century AD. Swayambhunath Stupa is also known as the “Monkey Temple” due to the hundreds of monkeys living around it, in addition to the pilgrims and monks who visit it. After our visit to this impressive sacred site, where Buddhist and Hindu symbols can be seen together, we return to our hotel. Overnight at our hotel.
Kathmandu – Chandragiri – Pharping – Asura Cave – Kathmandu
After the breakfast we will have at the hotel, free time. Those who wish may join the optional Chandragiri Hill, Pharping and Asura Cave Tour (60 USD), organized by our guide. First, we head to Chandragiri Hill, which reveals breathtaking views of the entire Kathmandu Valley, covered with lush vegetation and crowned by a spectacular peak. We will take the cable car up to the hill, where we will enjoy panoramic views stretching from Annapurna to Everest in the Himalayas. Afterwards, we continue to the Pharping area, known for its natural beauty, temples, and monastery. We will visit Asura Cave, an ancient meditation cave where, according to legend, Guru Padmasambhava meditated, and one of the most important Hindu temples dedicated to the goddess Dakshinkali. After touring this temple, considered one of the spiritual power centers in the country, we proceed to Khokana, an old Newar settlement about 30 km from Kathmandu, notable for its typical red-brick houses and tiled roofs. After our city tour in this town, which is like an open-air museum where we can closely observe Newari culture, traditions, architecture, and handicrafts, we return to our hotel to rest. Overnight at our hotel.
Kathmandu – Istanbul
After having our packed breakfast at our hotel, we depart for Kathmandu Airport. After completing our passport, baggage, and check-in procedures at the airport, we board Turkish Airlines’ scheduled Kathmandu-Istanbul flight for our return journey. Upon our arrival in Istanbul, our tour and services come to an end.
