DAY 1 ISTANBUL – BAKU
After baggage and check-in procedures at Istanbul Airport's international departure terminal, depart at 12:05 on Turkish Airlines flight TK340 to Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. Arrival in Baku at 15:50 local time. Upon arrival, we begin our panoramic city tour of Baku, where we will have our first introduction to the city, with our private bus waiting for us at the airport. We panoramically explore important points such as the Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center, dazzling with its modern architecture, the peaceful Venice Park, Baku Boulevard stretching along the coast, the impressive Flame Towers, the meaningful Turkish Martyrs' Cemetery, the Carpet Museum and the National Assembly Square. After the tour, we transfer to our hotel. Free time after check-in to our rooms. Overnight at our hotel.
DAY 2 BAKU
We start the day with breakfast at the hotel. We meet in the lobby at the time to be announced by our guide. After meeting, we set out to take the lunch-inclusive “Absheron Peninsula & Atashgah & Yanardag & Shopping Tour”. Our first stop is the Atashgah Temple, considered one of the sacred centers of the Zoroastrian faith. Known for the legend of the “Eternal Flame,” this special place still preserves the mystical atmosphere of the past. Then we visit Yanardag, one of nature's extraordinary miracles. This area, where natural gas from underground ignites and has never gone out for centuries, is one of the symbols of Azerbaijan, which Marco Polo described as the “Land of Fire.” After returning to Baku and having lunch at the restaurant we have selected, in the last part of the day we head to Port Baku/Cresent Mall, the shopping destination. World-famous brand stores, modern restaurants and a pleasant atmosphere await you. We will have free time here for shopping and relaxation. Return to the hotel after the tour. Overnight at our hotel.
DAY 3 BAKU
We start the day with breakfast at the hotel. We meet in the lobby at the time to be announced by our guide. After meeting, we will carry out the “Gobustan & Mud Volcanoes and Heydar Aliyev Museum Tour”. Our first stop is Gobustan, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List and bears traces from prehistoric times. This open-air museum-like area on the shores of the Caspian Sea sheds light on thousands of years ago with its rock carvings and inscribed stones. Then, we closely observe the Mud Volcanoes, which are found only in certain regions of the world and are densely present in Azerbaijan. Active geological movements will fascinate you with this unique natural phenomenon. In the afternoon, we return to Baku and visit the Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center, an architectural masterpiece of modern Azerbaijan. Realized with the design of the world-famous designer Zaha Hadid, this iconic structure attracts attention both with its exterior and with the exhibitions inside. Inside the cultural center, in addition to personal belongings of Heydar Aliyev, there are also ethnographic and archaeological collections. Return to the hotel after the tour.
Extra: In the evening, for our guests who wish, the guide will organize an extra “Azerbaijan Night with Dinner” (80 EUR, per person). This enjoyable night, where we will experience local delicacies and Azerbaijani culture accompanied by traditional music, will remain as an unforgettable memory from your trip. DAY 4 BAKU – ISTANBUL
After breakfast at the hotel, we empty our rooms and complete the check-out procedures. We meet in the lobby at the time to be announced by our guide and then begin our “Baku Old Town & Surahani Ship Museum tour. In this tour, we will first visit the Surahani tanker, which played an important role in Azerbaijan's history of petroleum transportation by sea and was transformed into a museum in 2017 with comprehensive maintenance and repair. Various innovative solutions were implemented in the halls of the Surakhani tanker museum, which is 123.5 meters long and weighs 4696 tons. Here we learn about the history of the Caspian Sea, oil production in Absheron, the development of seafaring, ships considered among the world's firsts, sea giants, navigation facilities that are an integral part of seafaring, sea knots with a history of about 5000 years, and equipment used to operate ships. After our museum visit, we take a journey through the stone streets in the historic Inner City (Icheri Sheher) area, and see important structures such as the Maiden Tower, Shirvanshahs' Palace, the Miniature Book Museum and historic baths up close. Finally, free time on Nizami Street, formerly known as Targovi, one of the liveliest points of Baku and reminiscent of Istiklal Avenue in Istanbul.
After free time, we meet at the time to be announced by our guide and set off toward Baku Heydar Aliyev Airport. After arrival at the airport, we complete our passport and baggage procedures and depart for Istanbul at 20:50 on Turkish Airlines flight TK335. Arrival in Istanbul at 23:05 local time and the end of our tour.
