Day 1 ISTANBUL – OSLO (NORWAY)
Istanbul New Airport International Departures terminal. Meeting in front of the Turkish Airlines counter at 05:30. Departure for Oslo at 08:10 on Turkish Airlines flight TK 1751. After arriving at 10:50 local time, we board our waiting bus and depart for the port of Oslo. Free time to settle into the cabins following the check-in procedures. Our ship departs the port at 16:00 in the evening.
Day 2 COPENHAGEN / DENMARK
Our ship will dock at the port at 09:00 in the morning. After breakfast on board, guests who wish may join the “Copenhagen city tour” to be organized as an optional excursion by our guide. The first stop is the Little Mermaid statue, the tragic heroine of Andersen’s tales and the bronze symbol of Copenhagen, standing on a rock along the seaside promenade. We complete our city tour with the City Hall, notable for its clock tower built in 1905 and its architecture; Nyhavn Canal, the city’s most central and vibrant area with its colorful houses, cafés and restaurants; Stroget Street, the world’s longest pedestrian shopping street, always colorful and entertaining with street musicians, dancers and magicians at every corner; Amalienborg Palace, built in the 18th century and still home to the Danish royal family; the Round Tower, a 17th-century astronomical observation tower offering panoramic views of the city; Christianborg Palace, formerly home to kings and queens and now used as the Danish Parliament Building, impressive with its architectural style; and the Opera House, notable for its modern design and display of hundreds of important works. Our ship will depart the port at 17:00 in the evening.
Day 3 WARNEMUNDE / GERMANY
After breakfast on board, our ship will dock at Warnemünde port at 07:00. Guests who wish may join the “Lübeck & Rostock Tour” to be organized as an optional excursion by our guide. Located at the mouth of the Warnow River, Warnemünde is an attractive German seaside resort boasting elegant architecture and a beautiful white sandy beach. It is an excellent starting point for visiting historic cities and the cultural capital Berlin. Berlin is a city of immense cultural, architectural and historical importance that has witnessed a significant revival since the fall of the Berlin Wall. You will have the opportunity to see some of the German capital’s most incredible landmarks, including the 17th-century Baroque-Rococo Charlottenburg Palace, the 19th-century Victory Column and the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, and explore the area around the Brandenburg Gate, the terrifying “death strip” of Communist times. We then visit the Holocaust Memorial and Checkpoint Charlie before touring the Berlin Wall and returning to the ship. Our ship will depart the port at 17:00 in the evening.
Day 4 GDYNIA (GDANSK-DANZIG) / POLAND
Our ship will dock at the port at 10:00. Guests who wish may join the “Gdynia & Gdansk Tour” to be organized as an optional excursion by our guide. Our journey begins to the uniquely beautiful city of Gdansk on Poland’s Baltic Sea coast. After our journey, we first proceed to Westerplatte, where the first bomb was dropped by the Nazis. Following our visit here, during our Gdansk city tour accompanied by our guide, we will see places such as Long Market, the Golden Gate, and the Neptune Statue and Fountain. We have free time in Gdansk. We then continue to the site of the Lech Walesa monument. Lech Wałęsa was a leader who led workers striving for unity following the workers’ resistance that began in the Gdańsk shipyards in 1970 and ended bloodily; he devoted his life to the resistance and never abandoned it despite becoming unemployed many times. Our ship will depart the port at 19:00.
Day 5 KLAIPEDA / LITHUANIA
Our ship will dock at Klaipeda port at 07:00. Guests who wish may join the “Klaipeda Tour” to be organized as an optional excursion by our guide. Amber, a type of fossilized tree resin, is highly prized as a gemstone because of its soft golden glow, and as the region is known for its Baltic extraction industry, this tour visits the Amber Museum in Palanga and takes a look at Klaipeda’s old town. Your walk through the old town begins at Theatre Square, where you will see the statue of “Ännchen von Tharau,” erected in memory of a folk song written by Klaipeda-born poet Simon Dach. As you pass the old town’s half-timbered houses, you will also have the chance to browse market stalls selling handicrafts and amber jewelry before continuing to Palanga. You will visit both the Palanga Botanical Gardens, created more than 100 years ago, and the Amber Museum housed in the 19th-century Tiškevičiai Palace. The museum provides information about where “Baltic Gold” can be found, its uses and its characteristic inclusions—the history captured in resin beads. Our ship will depart the port at 15:30.
Day 6 RIGA / LATVIA
Our ship will dock at Riga port at 07:00. Guests who wish may join the “Riga Tour” to be organized as an optional excursion by our guide. Riga Castle, built in the 14th century; St. Jacob’s Church; the House of the Brotherhood of the Blackheads; the large and small Guildhalls and the Cat House, famous for their intriguing stories; the old city walls; the Dome Cathedral; the theatre and Parliament Building; the Freedom Monument; and streets adorned with Art Nouveau-style buildings are among the sights to be seen. Our ship will depart the port at 14:30.
Day 7 STOCKHOLM (SWEDEN) - ISTANBUL
Our ship will dock at Stockholm port at 09:00 in the morning. After completing our check-out procedures, we leave the ship. Guests who wish may join the “Stockholm City Tour” to be organized as an optional excursion by their guide. Stockholm is probably one of the grandest and most beautiful capitals among all the Northern European countries we will visit. In fact, even the magnificent city of St. Petersburg was built as a response to Stockholm. During our tour, we will take an introductory tour of this city known as the Venice of the North. The tour begins at Monteliusvägen hill, offering magnificent views from almost every corner, and includes Fjallgatan, Stadshuset (City Hall), the Royal Palace and the old harbor. After free time for shopping, we depart for Stockholm Airport in our private bus. Following our arrival at the airport, baggage and check-in procedures, we depart for Istanbul at 18:35 on Turkish Airlines flight TK 1796. Arrival in Istanbul at 23:15 local time. We look forward to meeting you on another enjoyable trip!
