DAY 1 ISTANBUL – NAPLES
Meeting with our valued guests 3 hours before the flight time in front of the Turkish Airlines counter at Istanbul Airport International Terminal. After baggage and ticket procedures, we will fly to Naples on Turkish Airlines’s scheduled flight. Following our arrival in Naples, we will take a city tour. Places to be visited during our tour include the Royal Palace built in the 16th century, San Carlo Theatre which hosts some of the world’s most important shows, Umberto I Gallery famous for its cafes and shops, San Francesco Di Paolo Church inspired by the Pantheon in Rome, Plebiscito Square, Angevin Castle, and Naples Port. Free time after the tour. Guests who wish may join the Pompeii (65 Euro) extra tour organized additionally by our guide. Pompeii, one of the world’s most famous archaeological sites, stretches at the foot of Mount Vesuvius, which erupted in AD 79 and destroyed the city. As a result of long excavations carried out by archaeologists in 1748, the city was revealed in all its vitality. Among the places to visit are the Basilica, Forum, House of Fauna, restaurants, baths, and bakeries. Transfer to the hotel after the tour. Overnight at our hotel.
DAY 2 NAPLES
After breakfast, free time follows. Guests who wish may join the Amalfi Coast (105 Euro) extra tour organized additionally by our guide. During this trip, we have the opportunity to experience Italy’s most beautiful coastline, the Amalfi Coast, with its breathtaking views from high steep cliffs, colorful and charming villages overlooking the sea, winding and steep roads, ornate gardens, and turquoise waters. We also get the chance to see the panorama of southern and northern Italy, showcasing all its beauty despite its contrasts. Our tour begins with Sorrento, one of Italy’s most romantic cities. Captivated by the magic of Sorrento with its lush green streets and squares full of flowers, we move on to Positano. Lemon groves cover every corner of this city where houses seem stacked on top of each other. After free time for photos during our panoramic visit to Positano, we head to Amalfi for lunch and shopping. While some guests may visit Amalfi Cathedral, others can spend their free time enjoying the beautiful streets of Amalfi. Return to the hotel after the tour. Overnight at our hotel.
DAY 3 NAPLES – LECCE
After breakfast, we depart for Lecce. There is an option to join the Matera tour organized additionally along the route (40 Euro). Matera, located on the UNESCO World Heritage List, consisting of churches and homes carved into the rock, and visited by Carlo Levi before his exile, will be visited. After the Matera tour, we continue to Lecce. Following our arrival, we take a city tour. In our city tour of Lecce, known as the Florence of Southern Italy, places to visit include Santa Croce Basilica, the ancient city center, Duomo Square, Sant’Oronzo Square, and Porta Napoli. Transfer to the hotel after the tour. Overnight at our hotel.
DAY 4 LECCE – ALBEROBELLO
After breakfast, free time follows. Guests who wish may join the Otranto (60 Euro) extra tour organized additionally by our guide. Otranto is the place where the Ottoman fleet, led by Gedik Ahmet Pasha, first set foot in Italy during the Italian campaign in 1480. After the unexpected death of Sultan Mehmed II, the interregnum period began, and Gedik Ahmet Pasha was recalled to Istanbul, thus ending the Italian campaign. Among the places to visit during our tour are Otranto Cathedral, where the skeletons of Otranto soldiers who lost their lives during the Ottoman siege are located, Old Otranto Castle, Aragon Castle, and San Pietro Church. Transfer to Alberobello after the tour. Upon our arrival in Alberobello, we will see the key-stone mushroom houses (Trulli Houses) in Alberobello Village, listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Transfer to the hotel in Alberobello after the tour. Overnight at our hotel.
DAY 5 ALBEROBELLO
After breakfast, free time. Guests who wish may join the Puglia Villages tour organized additionally (95 Euro). On this tour, we first stop at the town of Locorotondo. In Locorotondo, one of the region’s most famous villages, we begin our tour by visiting the central Basilica. Among the places to visit in Locorotondo are the ancient city center, San Nicola and San Giorgio churches. After our tour, we proceed to Ostuni. Upon our arrival in Ostuni, we begin our city tour. Among the places to visit during our city tour are Ostuni Cathedral, Vescovile Palace and its courtyard, Ostuni walls, Sant’Orozo obelisk, and the Town Hall. Then we head to Polignano a Mare, the final stop of our tour, a coastal town. Upon our arrival in Polignano a Mare, we begin our city tour. Among the places to visit are the old city center and Polignano a Mare beaches. Free time on the unique beach of Polignano a Mare after the tour. Then, return to the hotel at the time determined by the guide. Overnight at our hotel.
DAY 6 ALBEROBELLO – ISTANBUL
Transfer to the airport after breakfast. After completing our ticket and baggage procedures, we depart for Istanbul on Turkish Airlines’s flight. Arrival in Istanbul and end of our tour.
