Cruise ships are like floating deluxe hotels equipped with state-of-the-art technology. You can follow the daily program showing the activities to be done from the ship newspaper distributed to your room the previous evening of each day. You can think of this newspaper as a bulletin that lets you know all the information about what will happen on the ship that day, including all activities on the ship, weather conditions, information about the port of call, and reservation contact details for special restaurants or the spa. The most common language on the ship is English. If you are on a program with Turkish guidance, our guide will support you on all matters, from ship bulletins to restaurant menus, and will prepare special bulletins for you, our valued guests.
When boarding the ship, you must hand over your luggage, passport, and credit card details (a deposit will be charged for possible expenses) at the check-in desk located at the ship’s entrance. After your passport is collected at the beginning of the trip, it will only be returned to you at the end of the tour. After you hand your passport over to the ship, you will be given a Boarding Card by the ship. You will use this card as both your passport, the key to your cabin, and for all transactions you make on board. Various details such as your first and last name, cabin number, and dining seating are written on the Boarding Card.
There is a dress code for passengers on the ship. Since there are special events on the ship such as the captain’s welcome dinner and gala night, we kindly ask you to bring elegant and classic clothes. You can follow events such as gala night and welcome dinner, as well as special events, through the ship newspaper mentioned at the beginning. The bulletin also specifies the dress code.
On cruise ships, there are buffet restaurants where you can eat something at any time of day, 20 hours a day. In addition to breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the main restaurant included in your fare, there are fast food points and buffets. The ship also has special concept restaurants, such as Thai and Steak House restaurants. For these restaurants, you can make a reservation in advance and taste special dishes prepared by special chefs. Themed restaurants are subject to an extra charge.
Cruise ships offer many facilities and activities for families with children. There are children’s pools and kids’ clubs where children can spend time on board.
Cruise ships are designed by engineers so they will not sway during travel, and ship captains are specially trained. Smoking is prohibited in all indoor areas of the ship, including your cabin. You may smoke on open decks where there are no signs prohibiting smoking and where ashtrays are provided. Ships have doctors and nurses. There are also accessible cabins on ships.
