We recommend that women bring a thin shawl or scarf with them. Also, if you have a hat or sunglasses, you should not use them while inside a place of worship. Some tours may be conducted by public transportation or on foot where roads are closed or vehicle access is not permitted, within possibilities. ## Tour Program ### Istanbul - Cairo At Istanbul Airport International Departures Terminal, after ticketing, baggage, and boarding procedures at the Turkish Airlines counter, we depart on a scheduled Turkish Airlines flight to Cairo. Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, we leave the airport with our private vehicle waiting for us for our panoramic city tour. During our panoramic Cairo city tour, the places we will see include the Old City Center, Mohamed Ali Mosque, Sadat’s Memorial Tomb, Baron Palace, El Tahrir Square, the city center along the Nile, and Khan El Khalili Bazaar. At the end of the tour, after some free time, we will be transferred to our hotel. Overnight at our hotel. ### Cairo After having breakfast at our hotel, we will depart for the Grand Egyptian Museum & Giza Pyramids & Sphinx Tour with lunch included. Our first stop will be the museum, which covers an area of 500,000 square meters (approximately 70 football fields) and is the world’s largest archaeology museum complex dedicated to a single civilization. Standing out with its magnificent plaster and glass façade, the complex is decorated with triangles of different sizes and colors as a tribute to Ancient Egypt. Then we will visit the pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, named after the pharaohs who built them. Built thousands of years ago and still keeping their mysteries, these three pyramids were designed in a way that forms a Pythagorean triangle among them. These pyramids, built long before Pythagoras, show that the Egyptians had very advanced knowledge of mathematics and geometry. After visiting the mysterious pyramids, we will see the Sphinx, which has the head of a pharaoh and the body of a lion, symbolizing the rising sun and rebirth for the pharaoh. We will have our lunch at a local restaurant during the tour. Finally, after visiting the “Living Statue” Sphinx, whose paws contain a temple, we will be given free time. First, we head to the Sakkara Valley (Valley of the Dead), where the people of Memphis, the oldest capital of Egypt, were buried. After a journey of about half an hour, we arrive at Memphis, where we will see statues of pharaohs, ancient temples, and the ruins of palaces. We visit the Step Pyramid of Djoser, named after King Djoser of the 3rd Dynasty, who ruled Egypt in the 27th century BC and is known as the first and largest stone structure pyramid built in Egyptian history. After the tour, we meet at the time specified by our guide and head to the airport for our flight back to Istanbul. After our ticketing, passport, and baggage procedures, we depart for Istanbul on Turkish Airlines’ scheduled flight.
