ISTANBUL – TUNIS – HAMMAMET

Meet at Istanbul New Airport, international departures terminal. After completing passport and customs procedures, depart for Tunisia. Upon arrival at Tunis Carthage Airport, transfer to our vehicle waiting for us and then head to the ancient city of Carthage. Founded by the Phoenicians, Carthage is a vast archaeological site located on a hill overlooking the Gulf of Tunis and the surrounding plain. After seeing this ancient site along the route, we begin our city tour of Tunis. Tunis Medina old town, Bab El Bhar, Zaytuna Mosque, Yusuf Day Mosque, the house where Ibn Khaldun (1332–1406) was born, the famous historian, sociologist, philosopher, politician and statesman who left a profound impact on later generations with his original ideas and methods in the Muqaddimah, one of the most original works in Islamic and even world intellectual history, Ukba Mosque, where he received his first education, and after visiting the tombs of the Ottoman beys in Tunis, Türbet-ül Bey, we see the French Avenue and Habib Bourguiba Avenue, the modern face of the city, and then depart for Hammamet, the tourist center of Tunisia. Dinner and overnight at our hotel.
 

HAMMAMET – KAIROUAN – SOUSSE ( SUSA )

After breakfast at the hotel, depart for Kairouan, one of the oldest Islamic civilization cities, founded by Ukba bin Nafi. Kairouan is the first city in North Africa to encounter Islam and the first point where Islam arrived on the African continent. In this ancient historic city where the first mosque was built and the first call to prayer was recited, we visit the Aghlabid Pools, the tomb of Sahaba Abu Zama'a El Belavi, Ukba Mosque and Barutta Well. Then, after seeing the magnificent amphitheater dating from the 3rd century in the city of El Jem, we depart for the city of Sousse, located on the Hammamet Gulf on the Mediterranean coast and also a traditional center of olive oil and textiles. Sousse's Medina was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988 because its cultural and historical values were preserved from modern development. Walking through Sousse's maze-like narrow streets and exploring the area amazes visitors with its centuries-old architecture. After our tour of Sousse Mosque, its fortress, and Port El Kantaoui, designed as a white-and-blue Tunisian-style village with cobblestone streets, we return to Hammamet. Dinner and overnight at our hotel.
 

HAMMAMET – MAHDIA - MONASTIR

After breakfast at the hotel, depart for the city of Mahdia. In our city tour of Mahdia, the Ottoman sancak city on the Mediterranean coast, places we will visit include the Burj al-Kabir Ottoman Fortress, the largest of the Ottoman structures built in 1595, the old town Medina, the Great Mahdia Mosque, built in 916 and belonging to the Fatimid period, which is the city's symbol, and Skifa Kahla, the entrance gate to the old town. After completing our visits in Mahdia, depart for the historic city of Monastir, located in Tunisia's coastal region. One of the city's most important structures on the Mediterranean coast is the Monastir Ribat. Monastir Ribat is a large fortress complex rising by the sea. It is one of Tunisia's oldest and best-preserved fortresses, built for defense purposes in the Middle Ages and over time turned into a historical structure, now an important attraction drawing the interest of tourists. Then, after seeing the Habib Bourguiba Mausoleum, return to Hammamet. Hammamet draws us in with its white sandy beaches blending with the deep blue sea, magnificent gardens, archaeological sites, museums, and the scent of jasmine surrounding the city. After the Medina tour of the old town, return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight at our hotel.
 

HAMMAMET - NABEUL – SIDI BOU SAID -TUNIS – ISTANBUL

After breakfast at the hotel, depart for the city of Nabeul. The city’s greatest feature is its wonderfully beautiful ceramic and tile products, as well as its pottery workshops and shops selling pottery. After seeing the old town Medina, depart for the Bardo Mosaic Museum in Tunis. Founded on May 7, 1888, the museum is one of the most important museums in the Mediterranean region due to the richness of its collection, and is the second museum on the African continent after the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. With hundreds of magnificent mosaics, large and small, spread across dozens of halls, the Bardo Museum fully deserves the title of "the world's largest mosaic museum." After the museum visit, we head to Sidi Bou Said, known for its cobblestone streets and blue-and-white houses. After wandering through the mystical, authentic, and fairy-tale streets of Sidi Bou Said, a charming town built on a rise overlooking the Mediterranean and home to frescoed cafés, Tunisian restaurants, and small art galleries, we depart for Tunis for dinner and accommodation.
