After meeting our guests at the specified points, we set off towards Kapıkule Border Gate. Here, after customs and passport procedures, we enter Bulgaria.
Kapıkule – Bucharest – Sinaia – Bran – Brașov
After transiting through Bulgaria, we will complete the procedures at the border gates in the morning and then stop along the way for breakfast. After breakfast, we depart for Romania’s Transylvania region. We begin our tour with a visit to Peleș Castle, one of Europe’s most beautiful castles, which combines magnificent natural and historical beauty. After visiting here, we head to Bran, where we visit the mysterious Dracula’s Castle, known in Ottoman history as Vlad the Impaler and featured in Count Dracula films, where the vampire legend was born. Our guests can taste the famous smoked cheese (kaşkaval) here and shop at the souvenir stores. Afterwards, we head to the historic city of Brașov, famous for its beauty and cafés. In this beautiful city, where historical buildings in medieval German Rococo style stand, the Black Church, preserved narrow streets, and colorful buildings are among the main places we will see. After our tour program, we transfer to our hotel. Overnight in Brașov at our hotel.
Brașov – Sighișoara – Turda Salt Mines - Cluj
After breakfast at the hotel, we head to Sighişoara, one of the most beautiful towns in the heart of Transylvania. Sighişoara, where the influences of German architecture can be seen, has been one of Romania’s most important regions for military and diplomatic purposes for long periods. Among the places we will see are the Clock Tower, the Guild Tower, the Venetian House built in the 13th century, Dracula’s House, now used as a restaurant, the Horn House, and the Church. After our city tour, we proceed to Turda Salt Mines. After visiting the Salt Mines, which are among the largest salt mines in the world and have been turned into a museum, we head to Cluj, the second largest city in Romania after Bucharest. Cluj, which has hosted many civilizations and nations and was founded by the Dacians in the 1st–2nd centuries AD, is one of the most important cities in Transylvania in historical terms. It has come down through history under different names: by the Germans as Klausenburg, by the Hungarians as Kolozsvár, and during the Ottoman period as Koloşvar; in 1970 it took the name Cluj-Napoca. During our Cluj city tour, the main places we will see are the city square, Piata Unirii (Union Square), St. Michael’s Church, the second largest church in Transylvania, the statue of Hungarian King Matthias Corvinus, the Pharmacy Museum, the Transylvania History Museum, Museum Square, the Obelisk, the Monastery Church (Franciscan), and the Matthias Corvinus House. After our city tour, arrival at our hotel in Cluj and check-in. Overnight stay at our hotel in Cluj.
Cluj – Alba Iulia - Hunedoara - Sibiu
After breakfast at the hotel, we head to Alba Iulia, also known as Belgrade of Transylvania during the Ottoman period. After our panoramic city tour, we go to Sibiu, which was chosen as the European Capital of Culture in 2007. The city is famous for the most expensive fortress of its time, built by the Saxons in the 12th century. Also among the places to be seen are Sibiu Church, Brukenthal Palace, the Grand Square, and the Cathedral. After the city tour, we visit Corvin Castle, also known as Hunedoara Castle, which is listed among the world’s top 10 castles. Built in the 15th century in Hunedoara, the castle is largely Gothic in style, but also includes Renaissance architectural elements. The castle burned down five times throughout history. Because Dracula was held captive in this castle for 7 years by Hunyadi, it is also thought to be the Dracula Castle mentioned in Bram Stoker’s book. After the tour, we proceed to our hotel. Overnight at our hotel in Sibiu.
Sibiu – Bucharest
After breakfast at our hotel in the morning, we depart for Bucharest, the capital of Romania. Upon our arrival in Bucharest, we begin our city tour of Bucharest, also known as the “Paris of the East.” Among the panoramic sights to be seen are Revolution Square, University Square, the National Theatre, the Parliament Palace built by Ceausescu, the Atatürk Monument, the Garrison Building, and the Bucharest History Museum. After our city tour, we visit the Village Museum. Following free time there, we transfer to our hotel. Guests who wish may join the optional Romanian Night (55 €), organized in the evening. After dinner, we return to our hotel. Overnight stay at our hotel in Bucharest.
Bucharest – Veliko Tarnovo - Istanbul
After breakfast at our hotel in Sabah, we begin our return journey to Istanbul. After leaving Romania and entering Bulgaria, we arrive in Veliko Tarnovo, the first capital of Bulgaria. We take a city tour to get to know the historic city of Veliko Tarnovo, built on the Yantra River. After our panoramic city tour, free time for lunch. Following the free time, we reach the Kapıkule Land Border Gate via the Dimitrovgrad – Haskovo – Kapıkule route. After passport and customs procedures there, we enter Turkey. After necessary breaks along the route, we arrive in Istanbul. We drop off our guests at the points included in the tour program (along the return route) and conclude our tour.
