Our guests who wish may take the IceBreaker tour (Icebreaker ship) as an extra tour. If our entire group does not participate, this tour can be carried out without a guide. Approximately 1 week before the departure date, our guide will call all our guests to provide detailed information about this tour.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS & IMPORTANT INFORMATION

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENT 

This trip is organized with a minimum participation requirement of 20 people.  If sufficient participation is not achieved, the final cancellation notification date is 20 days before the start of the tour. The canceled tour due to insufficient participation will be notified to you through your agency.

You must have a passport valid for 6 months from the end date of travel and not older than 10 years.

For destinations requiring a visa, the visa application must be made with the documents specified in the “Documents Required for Visa” list that your agency will provide to you for the visa application.

In order to avoid problems with customs police at the border crossing of the country to be visited due to torn, worn, wet and/or similarly damaged passports; such passports should be renewed, and if the destination is a country that applies visas to Turkish citizens, the relevant visa must be in the new passport. Otherwise, responsibility belongs to the passenger.

Since our guests under the age of 18 traveling alone or with only one of their parents may be asked for a document showing the mutual consent of the parents by the police officer on duty at the country entry/exit points, we recommend that our guests under 18 and their parents be sensitive about this issue.

HEALTH

We do not think that there will be any problem threatening your health with meals taken at the region’s good restaurants and hotels. However, when you are not with the group, we recommend that you be careful about food and drink, definitely consume bottled water, avoid ice, milk and dairy products, eat meat and fish products that you are sure are well cooked, and for fruit choose fruits that can be peeled such as bananas and pineapples. Current vaccination/PCR rules must be followed at country entry and upon return to the home country.

EXTRA TOURS & ACTIVITIES

Extra tours and activities are organized by the local agency from which we receive service, with a minimum participation requirement of 20 people, and participation is not mandatory. If the required number is not reached, excursions cannot be carried out, or the prices, content, and vehicles to be used for extra tours/activities may vary depending on the number of participants. In addition, the days and times of extra tours/activities may be changed by the guide according to the open/closed status of museums, archaeological sites, or venues at the destinations and weather conditions.

ACCOMMODATION   

During periods such as fairs, congresses, concerts, events, sports tournaments, etc., hotels may be used at distances greater than the specified km.

Triple rooms can be provided depending on the availability of the hotels, and the bed offered to the 3rd person in such rooms may be smaller than standard beds. Triple rooms consist of 1 large bed and 1 extra bed. Since extra beds are folding beds or coach beds, participants making 3rd-person and/or child reservations are deemed to have declared that they accept the possible congestion in the rooms and the bed type.

Child discounts are valid for only one (1) child staying with 2 adults and matching the age group specified in the pricing section.

Breakfasts included among the services in the tour program and taken at the hotel are served in accordance with the breakfast culture of the country in question and generally as a limited menu called continental breakfast, consisting of butter, jam, bread, tea or coffee, and may be served in a separate hall allocated to the group.

TIME ZONE     

There is a 1-hour difference between Turkey and Finland. Turkey is one hour ahead of Finland.

CLOTHING AND NECESSARY ITEMS  

Finland is quite cold in winter. For this, we recommend that you bring a thick jacket / coat, wool sweaters, fleece, thick pants, wool or fleece gloves, a hat, and a scarf. In addition, you may also bring snow goggles, sunscreen, earplugs against possible noise, a camera, a video camera, their chargers, and spare memory cards. The special clothing required for the extra tours you join will be provided to you on the day you join the tour.

FOOD CULTURE           

Finnish cuisine offers great gastronomic pleasure to those who taste it. In this city, vegetarian dishes, seafood, meat dishes, and all kinds of delicacies are prepared to suit every palate. Cafes, bars, clubs, and many other venues offer all kinds of beverages to their customers. 

SHOPPING         

Shopping is available at shopping centers in the city centers and small stalls selling souvenirs.

IMPORTANT NOTES            

Having a valid passport and/or having obtained a visa (for destinations/passports requiring a visa) does not mean that entry into the country will be allowed. The passport police have the authority to refuse you entry into the country. The Agency is not responsible for this situation; responsibility belongs to the passenger.

The Agency is an intermediary between the airline and the passenger and is subject to the Hague Protocol dated 28.09.1955. There may be a risk of delay on scheduled and special flights, or times may change before the current trip and flight. The Agency is obliged to notify such changes as soon as possible. Our passengers have purchased the tour knowing and accepting that flight details may change. Children aged 0-2 do not pay airport tax and airport services fee

The panoramic city tours included in the tour package are tours of maximum 2-3 hours, organized for the general introduction of the cities and conducted panoramically with guide commentary from inside the vehicle, excluding entrance fees to museums and archaeological sites. The Agency is not responsible for the failure to carry out the panoramic tours, including other tours specified in the program, on the day and time of the tour if they are not permitted to be visited or entered by local authorities, or if they cannot take place due to closed roads because of any event, and also in cases where the tour becomes impossible due to weather conditions. Some tours may be carried out by public transport or on foot where possible in areas with closed roads or where vehicle access is not allowed.

Tour Program
Istanbul - Rovaniemi - Tornio
We meet with our esteemed guests at the departure terminal of Istanbul Airport at the time to be announced by our guide. After our ticket, baggage, and passport procedures, we depart for Rovaniemi on a Turkish Airlines flight. Upon our arrival in Rovaniemi, we head to Santa Claus Village by private vehicle. At Santa Claus Village, which has been among the top 10 must-visit destinations for travel enthusiasts since 2008, you will have the opportunity to meet Santa Claus, take a photo with him, and send postcards to your loved ones from Santa Claus’s post office. You will also have free time for shopping in a wide variety of shops, where you can find special and unique gifts to delight your loved ones. On the way, we will pick up our thermal clothing. (Overall suit, boots, gloves, wool socks). Accommodation will be at our hotel in Tornio. Afterwards, we will carry out our Northern Lights Hunt tour. If luck is on our side, we may witness this fascinating natural phenomenon. Accommodation will be at our hotel in Tornio.
Tornio
After breakfast tomorrow, we will have free time. Guests who wish may join our optional Reindeer Farm & Husky Safari tour, organized by our guide with lunch included. Our tour begins with a transfer to the Reindeer Farm. On this tour, we will experience a short reindeer sled ride at the Reindeer Farm and receive a “Reindeer Driving Certificate,” then enjoy pleasant moments around the fire inside a traditional Lappish tent. We will then transfer to the Husky farm, spend time with these adorable cold-weather animals, learn how to guide the huskies in our own team, and enjoy a 3 km husky sled ride. We will complete the tour with lunch at our restaurant and then head to our hotel. Accommodation will be at our hotel in Tornio. Reindeer & Husky Safari Tour (with Lunch): Adult: €325 per person / Child 4–12: €245 per person.
Tornio
After breakfast tomorrow, we will have free time. Those who wish may join the optional Snowmobile Tour 1 Hour (2 people per vehicle) & Snow Experience, organized by our guide, for Adults: €225 per person, Children (04–12 years): €135 per person. For our snow safari tour, we will enjoy a 1-hour riding experience on Lapland’s special snowmobiles. First, we will listen to our instructor’s instructions. Then, after a half-hour ride, we will take a photo break at the end of the route. Afterward, we will complete our experience with a half-hour return route. After the ride, we will visit Snowexperience 365, where, as in fairy tales, there are ice sculptures, an ice slide, and an ice restaurant. You may also sit at ice tables and take photos. Overnight stay at our Tornio hotel. Note: Children up to 12 years old will take part in the snowmobile tour in a sled pulled by the staff member’s snowmobile.
Tornio
After breakfast tomorrow, we will have free time. For those who wish, we will transfer from our hotel for the optional Icebreaker Cruise with Lunch tour (500€), which will be organized by our guide. During this 3-hour tour, while enjoying the nostalgic atmosphere inside the ship, you will accompany the cracking sounds of the glaciers as they break and the unique polar scenery. Our tour includes a swimming experience in the survival suit and a Cruise and Swim certificate. On the return journey, we will visit a Traditional Swedish Village where we will have lunch. After our visit, we will transfer to our hotel, and accommodation will be at our Tornio hotel.
Tornio - Rovaniemi - Istanbul
After breakfast at our hotel, we transfer to the airport. We will take a short tour of Rovaniemi and have free time for last-minute shopping. Then we transfer to the airport. We fly to Istanbul on Turkish Airlines’ scheduled flight. Arrival at Istanbul Airport and the end of our tour. We look forward to seeing you on our next tour.
