Tour Program
Istanbul – Beijing
We meet at Istanbul Airport International Departures Terminal and, after ticketing, baggage, and boarding procedures, depart for Beijing on a scheduled Turkish Airlines flight. Following our arrival in Beijing in the late afternoon, we transfer to our hotel to rest. Overnight at our hotel.
Beijing
After breakfast at the hotel in the morning, free time. Guests who wish may join the optional Great Wall & Summer Palace tour with lunch (110 USD), organized by our guide. Our tour’s first stop is the Great Wall, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List and whose construction began in 220 BC to prevent invasions from the northern incursions of Central Asian Turks. After visiting it, we will have lunch and then visit the magnificent Summer Palace located on the shore of Kunming Lake. The Summer Palace is China’s best-preserved imperial garden and palace complex, situated in the northwest of Beijing. Its history dates back to the Jin Dynasty of the 12th century, but its present form was shaped in the 18th century during the Qing Dynasty under Emperor Qianlong. The emperor had it built to escape the crowded atmosphere of the main palace and rest in nature. The palace was damaged during the Second Opium War in 1860 and was later restored by Cixi with funds allocated from the state navy budget. Although this is known as a controversial anecdote, the palace’s current elegance is the result of the detailed restorations carried out during that period. We will then transfer to our hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Beijing
After breakfast at the hotel, you will have free time. Those who wish may join the optional Tiananmen Square, Temple of Heaven, and Forbidden City Tour with Lunch (140 USD), organized by our guide. Our first stop will be Tiananmen Square. Mao Zedong’s Mausoleum, the monumental obelisk “Monument to the People’s Heroes” rising from the very center of Tiananmen Square, the “Great Hall of the People,” the parliament building of the People’s Republic of China, and the China National Museum are among the places we will see from the outside in Tiananmen Square. Our next stop will be the Forbidden City, the enormous palace complex located north of Tiananmen Square. It served as the heart and administrative center of the Chinese Empire for nearly 500 years during the Ming and Qing dynasties. This palace, the world’s largest and best-preserved ancient wooden architectural complex, takes the name “Forbidden City” from the fact that no one except the imperial family and high-ranking officials could enter without permission. Designed according to traditional Chinese cosmology and the philosophy of symmetry, the complex covers an area of 720,000 square meters and, according to legend, contains 9,999 rooms. The yellow roof tiles dominating the palace architecture symbolize imperial power, while the red walls symbolize luck and joy. After visiting this complex, we will tour the Temple of Heaven, located in the heart of a magnificent park nearly twice the size of the Forbidden City. The Temple of Heaven is the most sacred ritual center where Chinese emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties prayed to heavenly powers for good harvests and abundance. Built in 1420 and designed according to traditional Chinese cosmology, the complex showcases the perfect harmony of circular and angular lines, reflecting the belief that “the sky is round and the earth is square.” We will have lunch at a local restaurant during the tour. At the end of the tour, we will transfer back to our hotel and have free time. Overnight at our hotel.
Beijing – Xi'an
After breakfast at our hotel, we will transfer to Xi’an by high-speed train. Upon arrival, we will be greeted by our private vehicle and begin our Lunch Included Big Wild Goose Pagoda & Sleepless Tang City Tour. On this tour, we set out to discover Xi’an’s historical and cultural landmarks. Our first stop will be the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, one of the city’s most important symbols, a seven-story brick structure rising within the Da Ci’en Temple complex, built during the Tang Dynasty to preserve the sacred scriptures and Buddha statues brought from India by the famous Buddhist monk Xuanzang. Here, we will admire the pagoda’s monumental architecture, traditional temple buildings, and peaceful gardens. After the visit, we will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Following lunch, we will head to Sleepless Tang City, which takes on an entirely different atmosphere under the evening lights, reviving the splendor of the Tang Dynasty through traditional architecture, red lanterns, statues, cultural performances, and modern entertainment venues. This lively pedestrian area, stretching south of the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, offers colorful streets, artists walking around in Tang-era costumes, illuminated buildings, and a striking night atmosphere that combines Xi’an’s historical heritage with contemporary city life. After the tour, we will transfer to our hotel. Overnight at our hotel.
Xi'an
After breakfast at the hotel in the morning, free time. Guests who wish may join the optional Lunch Included Terra Cotta Museum & Muslim Quarter tour (90 USD), organized by our guide. We will visit the “Underground Army” museum, known as the Terra Cotta Warriors, one of the most important archaeological excavations of the 20th century, created to protect the tomb of Qin Shi Huang, China’s first emperor. Discovered by chance in 1974 by a farmer, this army is home to 8,000 “Terra Cotta,” or “baked clay,” soldiers, each with a different facial expression and stance. These figures were prepared as a “spirit army,” with the belief that they would continue protecting the emperor after his death. During our visit, we will have the opportunity to see the emperor’s power and the level of craftsmanship of his era. After the tour, we return to Xi’an. Before transferring to our hotel, we will visit the Muslim Quarter, established by Muslim merchants according to their own traditions and customs. With its lively bazaar, local shops, and restaurants, we observe cultural integration and separation. At the end of the tour, we transfer to our hotel to rest. Overnight at our hotel.
Xi'an – Shanghai
After breakfast at the hotel in the morning, we will transfer to Xi’an Airport and fly to Shanghai on a scheduled domestic flight. Upon arrival in Shanghai, we will transfer to our hotel and have free time for the rest of the day to spend as you wish. Overnight at our hotel.
Shanghai
After breakfast at the hotel, the day is free at leisure. Guests who wish may join the optional Yu Garden & Jade Buddha Temple Tour with Lunch and Tea Ceremony (100 USD), organized by our guide. Our first stop on the tour will be Yu Garden. A traditional Chinese garden dating back to the Ming Dynasty, Yu Garden reflects traditional Chinese architecture with its ponds, stone bridges, and pavilions. After visiting Yu Garden, we will have the opportunity to take part in a Tea Ceremony, where we will delve deeper into Chinese culture. Then we will visit the Jade Buddha Temple, located in the heart of Shanghai and considered one of the most sacred Buddhist sites in China. Built in 1882 to house two magnificent Buddhist statues brought from Myanmar, this temple features the most elegant details of classic Song Dynasty architecture. During our visit, we will have the chance to see the world-famous Reclining Buddha and Sitting Buddha statues, carved from a single piece of white jade and adorned with precious stones, symbolizing inner peace. Lunch will be taken at a local restaurant during the tour. After the tour, transfer back to the hotel and free time. Overnight at our hotel.
Shanghai – Istanbul
After breakfast at the hotel, we set off for our Shanghai tour. Our first stop will be the French Concession district, known for its narrow streets lined with plane trees and its European-style villas. Here, we will explore the area that bears the city’s Western influences. Next, we will visit Xintiandi, one of Shanghai’s most stylish attractions, where traditional “Shikumen” architecture comes to life with modern restaurants and galleries. We continue our tour to Tianzifang, with its maze-like alleyways hiding art studios, boutiques, and secret cafés.
