SOUTH ITALY 2027 TK (BRI-NAP)

DAY 1        ISTANBUL - BARI – LECCE 

Meeting with our valued guests in front of the Turkish Airlines International Terminal counter at Istanbul Airport, 3 hours before the flight time. After baggage and ticket procedures, we fly to Bari on Turkish Airlines’s scheduled flight. Upon arrival, we take a panoramic city tour. During our tour, the Cathedral and Basilica of Saint Nicholas, Margarita Theatre, Petruzzelli Theatre, and the Old Town are among the places to visit. After the tour, we proceed to Lecce. Upon arrival, we take a city tour. In our city tour of Lecce, known as the Florence of Southern Italy, Santa Croce Basilica, the ancient city center, Duomo Square, Sant’Oronzo Square, and Porta Napoli are among the places to visit. After the tour, we return to the hotel. Overnight at our hotel.

DAY 2         LECCE – ALBEROBELLO 

After breakfast, free time follows. Guests who wish may join an Otranto (60 Euro) optional tour organized by our guide. Otranto is the place where the Ottoman fleet, which set out for Italy under the leadership of Gedik Ahmet Pasha in 1480, first set foot in Italy. After the unexpected death of Sultan Mehmed II, the interregnum period began, and Gedik Ahmet Pasha was recalled to Istanbul, thus ending the Italian campaign. During our tour, Otranto Cathedral, where the skeletons of Otranto soldiers who lost their lives during the Ottoman siege are located, the Old Otranto Castle, Aragon Castle, and San Pietro Church are among the places to visit. After the tour, we proceed to Alberobello. Upon arrival in Alberobello, we will see the keystone-roofed mushroom houses (Trulli Houses) in the town of Alberobello, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After the tour, transfer to the hotel in Alberobello.  Overnight at our hotel.

DAY 3             ALBEROBELLO 

After breakfast, free time follows. Guests who wish may join the Puglia Villages optional tour (95 Euro). On this tour, we first stop at the city of Locorotondo. One of the most famous villages of the region, our visit to Locorotondo begins with a visit to the central Basilica. In Locorotondo, the ancient city center, San Nicola and San Giorgio churches are among the places to visit. After our tour, we proceed to the city of Ostuni. Upon arrival in Ostuni, we begin our city tour. Ostuni Cathedral, Vescovile Palace and its courtyard, Ostuni walls, Sant’Orozo obelisk, and City Hall are among the places to visit during our city tour. Later, we head to the coastal town of Polignano a Mare, the final stop of our tour. Upon arrival in Polignano a Mare, we begin our city tour. The old city center and Polignano a Mare beaches are among the places to visit. After the tour, free time on the unique beach of Polignano a Mare. Later, we return to the hotel at the time determined by the guide. Overnight at our hotel.

DAY 4         ALBEROBELLO – NAPLES 

After breakfast, we proceed to Naples. There is an opportunity to join the Matera optional tour (40 Euro) along the route. We will visit Matera, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and consists of churches and homes carved into the rock, visited by Carlo Levi before his exile. After the Matera tour, we continue to Naples. Upon arrival in Naples, we take a city tour. During our tour, the Royal Palace built in the 16th century, San Carlo Theatre, which hosts some of the world’s most important performances, Umberto I Gallery, famous for its cafes and shops, San Francesco Di Paolo Church inspired by the Pantheon in Rome, Plebiscito Square, Castel dell’Ovo, and Naples Port are among the places to visit. After the tour, transfer to the hotel. Overnight at our hotel.

 DAY 5        NAPLES 

After breakfast, free time follows. Guests who wish may join the Amalfi Coast (105 Euro) optional tour organized by our guide. On this trip, we experience the chance to see the Amalfi Coast, Italy’s most beautiful coastline, with its breathtaking views from high steep cliffs, colorful and charming villages overlooking the sea, winding and steep roads, ornate gardens, and turquoise waters. Additionally, we have the opportunity to see the panorama of southern and northern Italy, showcasing all its beauty despite its contrasts. Our tour begins with Sorrento, one of Italy’s most romantic cities. Captivated by the magic of Sorrento with its lush streets and squares full of flowers, we move on to Positano. Lemon groves cover every corner of this city, which looks like houses stacked on top of each other. After free time for photos during our panoramic visit to Positano, we head to Amalfi for lunch and shopping. Guests who wish can visit Amalfi Cathedral, while others can spend their free time enjoying the beautiful streets of Amalfi. After the tour, we return to the hotel. Overnight at our hotel.

DAY 6            NAPLES – ISTANBUL 

After breakfast, free time follows. Guests who wish may join the Pompeii (65 Euro) optional tour organized by our guide. Pompeii, one of the world’s most famous archaeological sites, stretches at the foot of Mount Vesuvius, which erupted in A.D. 79 and destroyed the city. As a result of long excavations by archaeologists in 1748, the city emerged with all its vitality. Among the places to visit are the Basilica, Forum, House of Fauna, restaurants, baths, and bakeries. After our tour, transfer to Naples Airport. After completing our ticket and baggage procedures, we depart for Istanbul on Turkish Airlines’s flight. Arrival in Istanbul and the end of our tour.
