*VISA AND MANDATORY TRAVEL INSURANCE
Tanzania Tourist Visa (50 USD)
As Zanzibar is part of the United Republic of Tanzania, a Tanzanian tourist visa is required for travel to Zanzibar. Holders of ordinary passports are subject to visa requirements. Turkish citizens may apply for an Ordinary Visa (Single-Entry Tourist Visa) for tourist travel. The visa fee is 50 USD and the visa validity period is up to 90 days. According to official regulations, citizens of the Republic of Türkiye are also among those eligible to obtain a visa on arrival. However, it is recommended to apply for the visa online in order to complete the procedures before travel.
Online Application
Applications are made through the official e-Visa system of the Tanzania Immigration Department. You can apply for your visa through the link below.
https://eservices.immigration.go.tz/
The Tanzania Immigration Department states that online visa applications will be processed within 10 days. It is recommended that the visa application be submitted as early as possible before travel and that the Visa Grant Notice / visa approval be obtained before starting the journey. If mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar are visited within the same travel itinerary, there is no need to obtain a second visa.
Mandatory Zanzibar Inbound Travel Insurance (44 USD)
As of October 1, 2024, the Government of Zanzibar has made it mandatory for foreign visitors arriving in Zanzibar to purchase an Inbound Travel Insurance policy issued by Zanzibar Insurance Corporation (ZIC). This insurance is a mandatory entry requirement that may be requested upon entry into Zanzibar. According to official regulations, visitors arriving in Zanzibar must obtain this insurance through ZIC, valid for the duration of their stay and up to 92 days. The insurance particularly includes coverage for medical emergencies, air ambulance/evacuation, and related emergency assistance services.
Application:
The insurance must be purchased exclusively through Zanzibar Insurance Corporation (ZIC). Travel health insurance purchased from another country or from a private insurance company does not replace Zanzibar's mandatory ZIC insurance. Applications are completed online through the official Visit Zanzibar insurance portal. Entry into the country may be refused if valid insurance is not available. You can apply for the mandatory ZIC insurance through the link below.

Note: The visa and mandatory Zanzibar insurance are not included in the tour package price. Passengers must complete these procedures themselves before travel and carry the relevant documents with them throughout the journey.
Visa and insurance fees are subject to the current practices and charges of the relevant Tanzanian and Zanzibar authorities.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS & IMPORTANT INFORMATION PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENT
This trip is organized with a minimum participation requirement of 20 people. If sufficient participation is not achieved, the final cancellation notification deadline is 20 days before the start of the tour. Tours canceled due to insufficient participation will be notified to you through your agency.
VISA
Ordinary Passport Visa required
Green Passport Visa not required
Service Passport Visa not required
Your passport must be valid for 6 months from the end date of the trip and must not be older than 10 years.
For destinations requiring a visa, the visa application must be submitted with the documents specified in the “Documents Required for Visa” list that your agency will provide.
In order to avoid problems with customs police at the border of the country to be visited due to torn, worn, wet and/or similarly damaged passports, such passports must be renewed, and if the country applies visa requirements to citizens of the Republic of Türkiye, the relevant visa must be in the new passport. Otherwise, responsibility lies with the passenger.
As guests under the age of 18 may be asked by police officers at entry and exit points for a document showing the joint consent of their parents when traveling alone or accompanied by only one parent, we recommend that our guests under 18 and their parents pay particular attention to this matter.
OPTIONAL TOURS & ACTIVITIES
Optional tours and activities are organized by the local agency we work with, subject to a minimum participation requirement of 20 people, and participation is not compulsory. If sufficient numbers are not reached, the excursions may not take place, or optional tour/activity prices, content, and the vehicle to be used may vary depending on the number of participants. In addition, the dates and times of optional tours/activities may be changed by the guide according to the opening/closing status of museums, archaeological sites, or venues at the destinations, as well as weather conditions.
ACCOMMODATION
During periods such as fairs, congresses, concerts, events, sports tournaments, etc., hotels may be located farther than the stated distances. Triple rooms may be provided depending on hotel availability, and the bed provided for the third person in such rooms may be smaller than standard beds. Triple rooms consist of 1 double bed and 1 extra bed. Since extra beds consist of beds known as foldable or coach beds, participants making reservations for a third person and/or a child are deemed to have acknowledged and accepted the possible lack of space in the rooms and the type of bed.
Child discounts are valid for one (1) child staying with 2 adults and falling within the age group specified in the pricing section. Breakfasts included in the tour program and served at hotels are provided in accordance with the breakfast culture of the country visited, generally as a limited menu known as a continental breakfast consisting of butter, jam, bread, tea, or coffee, and may be served in a separate room allocated to the group.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS & IMPORTANT INFORMATION
HEALTH
We recommend that you receive a Yellow Fever vaccination at least ten days before your visit to Zanzibar and carry the vaccination card provided to you during your trip. In addition, we recommend consulting your doctor about whether to take malaria medication starting a certain period before your trip and whether to continue using it for a certain period during and after your trip. If you are adventurous with food and eat food sold uncovered on the streets, we strongly recommend consuming water from sealed bottles, avoiding ice, milk, and dairy products, eating meat, chicken, and fish products that you are sure have been thoroughly cooked, ensuring that fruits and vegetables have been properly washed, and eating fruit only after peeling it. We recommend wearing long-sleeved clothing at sunrise and sunset and bringing insect repellent with you. If you develop a fever within 7–30 days after returning from your trip, it is important to inform your doctor about the places you visited.
CURRENCY
The currency of Zanzibar is the Tanzanian Shilling (TZS).
It is advisable to carry US Dollars (USD) with you.
TIME ZONE
There is no time difference between Tanzania and Türkiye.

Besides souvenirs, it is possible to find handicraft products and natural food and beverage items characteristic of the country visited.
IMPORTANT NOTES
Having a valid passport and/or having obtained a visa (for destinations/passports requiring a visa) does not mean that entry into the country is guaranteed. Passport police have the authority to refuse you entry into the country. Bin Rota is not responsible for this situation; responsibility lies with the passenger.
BinRota is an intermediary institution between the airline and the passenger and is subject to the 28.09.1955 Hague Protocol. There may be a risk of delays on scheduled and special flights, or flight times may change before the existing tour and flight. BinRota is obliged to notify passengers of such changes as soon as possible. Our passengers have purchased the tour knowing and accepting that flight details may change. Children between 0 and 2 years of age do not pay airport taxes and airport service fees
Panoramic city tours included in the tour package are tours lasting no more than 2–3 hours, organized for the general introduction of cities and conducted panoramically with the guide's narration from inside the vehicle, without including museum or archaeological site entrance fees. If panoramic tours, including other tours specified in the program, cannot take place because local authorities do not permit visiting or entering the relevant places on the scheduled day and time, because roads are closed due to an event, or because weather conditions make the tour impossible, Bin Rota is not responsible for the inability to conduct these tours. Some tours may be conducted by public transportation or on foot, where possible, in areas with closed roads or where vehicle access is not permitted.
