In Lisbon’s authentic atmosphere, on special evenings held in a traditional Fado house; Fado artists who set sorrow, love, and longing to music will enchant you with melodies that touch the heart of Portugal.

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENT

This trip is organized with a minimum participation requirement of 40 people.  If sufficient participation is not achieved, the final cancellation notice date is 20 days before the tour start date. The tour canceled due to insufficient participation will be notified to you through your agency.

You must have a passport that is valid for 6 months from the end date of travel and not older than 10 years.

HEALTH

There is no vaccination requirement for entry into Portugal. We do not think that there will be any health-threatening problems with the meals taken in the region’s good restaurants and hotels. However, when you are not with the group, we recommend that you be careful about food and drink, definitely consume bottled water, avoid ice, milk and dairy products, eat meat and fish products that you are sure are well cooked, and for fruit, choose fruits that can be peeled, such as bananas and pineapples.

OPTIONAL TOURS & ACTIVITIES

Optional tours and activities are organized by the local agency we work with with a minimum participation requirement of 20 people, and there is no obligation to participate. If sufficient numbers are not reached, trips may not be carried out, or the prices, content, and vehicle to be used for optional tours/activities may vary depending on the number of participants. In addition, the days and times of optional tours/activities may be changed by the guide according to the opening/closing status of museums, ruins, or venues in the places to be visited, and according to weather conditions.

ACCOMMODATION

During periods such as fairs, congresses, concerts, events, sports tournaments, etc., hotels may be used at distances greater than the specified km. 

Triple rooms may be provided depending on hotel availability, and the bed provided for the 3rd person in such rooms may be smaller than standard beds. Triple rooms consist of 1 large bed and 1 extra bed. Since extra beds are folding or so-called coach beds, participants making reservations for a 3rd person and/or a child are deemed to have declared that they accept the possible cramped conditions in the rooms and the bed type. 

Child discounts are valid for only one (1) child staying with 2 adults and matching the age group specified in the pricing section. 

Breakfasts included in the tour program and taken at the hotel are served in accordance with the breakfast culture of the country visited and generally with a limited menu known as continental breakfast, consisting of butter, jam, bread, tea, or coffee, and may be served in a separate hall assigned to the group.

CURRENCY

The currency of Portugal is Euro (EUR). It is useful to have Euro (EUR) with you.

TIME ZONE

Portugal is 4 hours behind Turkey during daylight saving time and 3 hours behind during winter time. For example, when it is 18:30 in Turkey in summer, it is 14:30 in Portugal.

CLOTHING AND ESSENTIAL ITEMS

If you are going in the summer season, we recommend bringing T-shirts that can be easily put on and taken off, short- and long-sleeved shirts, cotton trousers, shorts, comfortable walking shoes, a light jacket for the evenings, and a thin sweater.  In addition, you may also bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, earplugs against possible noise, a camera, a video camera, their chargers, and spare memory cards. In the winter season, we recommend clothes that allow you to move comfortably and keep you warm.

CUISINE CULTURE

Portuguese people, having learned many flavors from the indigenous peoples of Brazil, Africa, and their colonies in Europe and Asia, have adapted these flavors to their own cuisine. Rice, potatoes, bread, meat, and seafood form the basis of the cuisine.

IMPORTANT NOTES

Having a valid passport and/or a visa (for visa-required destinations/passports) does not necessarily mean that entry into the country will be granted. The passport police have the authority to refuse you entry into the country. The agency is not responsible for this situation; responsibility belongs to the passenger.  

The agency is an intermediary institution between the airline and the passenger and is subject to the 28.09.1955 Hague Protocol. There may be a risk of delay on scheduled and special flights, or the times before the current trip and flight may change. The agency is obliged to notify these changes as soon as possible. Our passengers have purchased the tour knowing and accepting that flight details may change. Children aged 0-2 do not pay airport tax and airport service fees. 

Panoramic city tours included in the tour package are tours organized for general introduction of the cities and carried out panoramically with commentary from inside the vehicle, lasting at most 2-3 hours and not including entrance fees to museums or archaeological sites. Panoramic tours, including the other tours specified in the program, are not the responsibility of the agency if they cannot be carried out on the day and time of the tour due to roads closed by local authorities, or if they are not allowed to be visited or entered, or if they cannot be carried out due to any event, or if the tour becomes impossible due to weather conditions. Some tours may be carried out by public transport or on foot where possible in places with closed roads or where vehicle access is not permitted.

Tour Program
Istanbul - Porto
After meeting our guide at Istanbul Airport International Terminal, we complete our baggage drop-off and ticket procedures at the Turkish Airlines counter. Following the formalities, we depart for Porto on Turkish Airlines’ scheduled flight. Upon arrival, we will take part in a panoramic Porto city tour, during which we will see places such as Porto Cathedral, the Historic Wine Cellars, Liberty Square, Batalha Square, the Clérigos Tower, the Ribeira District, the Arrábida Bridge, Boa Vista, the Dom Luís I Bridge, São Francisco Church and the Stock Exchange Palace, and São Bento Train Station. After the tour, we transfer to our hotel and check into our rooms. Afterwards, there will be free time to rest or explore the surroundings. Overnight at our hotel.
Port
After breakfast at our hotel, we depart for the Guimarães & Braga & Bom Jesus do Monte tour, heading to the north of Portugal, renowned for its historical heritage. Our first stop is Guimarães, known as the “birthplace of Portugal.” In this historic city, where Portugal’s first king, Afonso Henriques, was born, we stroll through the medieval cobblestone streets and visit Guimarães Castle and the Palace of the Dukes of Braganza. We then continue to Braga, one of the country’s most important religious centers. In this city, distinguished by its rich religious heritage and magnificent structures, we have the opportunity to see Braga Cathedral (Sé de Braga), the oldest cathedral in Portugal. After spending the day exploring these remarkable cities where history, culture, and architecture intertwine, we return to our hotel. Overnight at our hotel.
Porto - Lisbon
After breakfast at our hotel, we depart for Lisbon. Upon arrival in the city, we check into our hotel and have free time. Later, we set out for the Sintra, Cascais, Estoril, and Cabo da Roca tour, where nature and history meet and offer unique views. Our first stop is the fairy-tale town of Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that once hosted the summer palaces of the Portuguese royal family. With its colorful palaces, lush green hills, and historic atmosphere, Sintra offers a delightful walk. We then reach Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe, known as "where the land ends and the sea begins." Here, we take a photo break while enjoying the stunning view of the vast Atlantic Ocean. After that, we visit the charming coastal town of Cascais, famous for its elegant streets and lively waterfront, located along the Atlantic coast. We will have free time in this lovely seaside town, originally a fishing village, with the sea breeze. Finally, we complete our tour by passing through Estoril, long known as a favorite holiday resort of aristocrats and the wealthy, famous for its casinos and luxury buildings. Afterwards, we continue with our panoramic Lisbon city tour. Among the sights to be seen are Jerónimos Monastery, Belém Tower, the Monument to the Discoveries, Rossio and Praça do Comércio Squares, Avenida da Liberdade, Marquês de Pombal Square, and São Jorge Castle on the hill overlooking the city. At the end of the tour, we return to our hotel. Overnight at our hotel.
Lisbon
After breakfast at our hotel, we will have some free time. Then we will set off on the Aveiro & Óbidos & Nazaré & Batalha & Fátima tour, covering some of Portugal’s most impressive historical and cultural highlights. Our first stop is Aveiro, known as the “Venice of Portugal” for its canals, colorful gondolas (moliceiros), and Art Nouveau architecture. Next, we head to the town of Óbidos, which resembles a medieval fairytale with its cobblestone streets, walled structure, and white houses adorned with flowers. In this city, which was given as a wedding gift by the king to his queen, you will also have the chance to taste the traditional cherry liqueur “Ginja.” We then continue to Nazaré, a traditional fishing village on the Atlantic coast; it is famous for its giant waves, endless ocean views, and cultural heritage. Afterwards, we visit Batalha Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the masterpieces of Gothic architecture, notable for its captivating stonework. Our final stop of the day is Fátima, the sacred city visited by millions of pilgrims each year, where the Virgin Mary is believed to have appeared to three shepherd children in 1917, and which is renowned for the miracle of the “Three Secrets of Fátima.” After this meaningful visit, we complete the day and, upon arrival at our Lisbon hotel, relax and rest. Overnight at our hotel.
Lisbon - Istanbul
After breakfast at our hotel, we check out of our rooms and enjoy free time until the time determined by our guide, making the most of the city. Then we transfer to the airport. After baggage, ticket, and customs procedures, we fly to Istanbul on Turkish Airlines’ scheduled flight. Upon arrival, our tour and services come to an end.
