 FOOD CULTURE

Swiss cuisine is influenced by French, German and Northern Italian cuisine, as well as by Switzerland's history, primarily as an agricultural country. Many traditional Swiss dishes tend to be relatively simple and are made from basic ingredients such as potatoes and Swiss cheese.

With roots dating back to the Middle Ages, French cuisine has a rich culture. French cuisine, whose fame has spread throughout the world with its renowned wines and various cheeses, is known for meat dishes cooked with different sauces and famous desserts such as crème brûlée, macarons and soufflé.

Italian cuisine, which varies by region, is among the world's richest cuisines, enriched by Mediterranean influences. It offers a wide range of options, from snacks prepared with fresh tomatoes, greens and cheeses unique to the country, to superbly flavored pizzas, pasta made with a great variety of sauces and seafood.

After breakfast at our hotel, we will be picked up from your hotel in Zurich in our private vehicle and begin our enjoyable journey. On our Four Countries in One Day Tour, we will visit Lindau, Bregenz, Liechtenstein, and Rapperswil. Our first stop early in the morning is the Rhine Falls, the largest waterfall in Europe. We will take a short break here. You can stand close to the roaring waters, feel the power of this natural wonder, and take plenty of photos. After visiting the waterfall, we will head south. Along the way, our guide will tell us about Switzerland’s cultural heritage and history. We will then cross the border into Liechtenstein, one of the smallest yet most impressive countries in the world. Upon arriving in the capital, Vaduz, we will have free time in the city center. Guests may shop at the boutique stores, relax in cafés, or see Vaduz Castle on the hilltop. Those who wish may also have a souvenir stamp from Liechtenstein added to their passports. After leaving Vaduz, we will continue toward Austria. We will arrive in the town of Bregenz, located on the shores of Lake Constance. Here, we will take a short break by the lake. After Austria, our next destination is Germany. We will cross to the town of Lindau on the opposite shore of the lake. This is an island town famous for its well-preserved historic character and medieval streets. We will take a walk through the narrow streets and see the Bavarian Lion statue and Lindau Lighthouse. Panoramic views of the lake and the Alps await you here. Before bringing the day to an end, we will return to Switzerland. On the way, we will make one final stop in the town of Rapperswil, located at the northern end of Lake Zurich. Also known as the “Town of Roses,” Rapperswil offers the opportunity to stroll along the lakeside and enjoy magnificent views from Rapperswil Castle, situated on the hilltop. At the end of the day, we will return to your hotel in Zurich. Overnight at our hotel.
From Zurich to Milan on the Bernina Express
After breakfast at our hotel, we depart for Pontresina to embark on the fairytale-like Bernina Express journey. At Pontresina station, we board the red Bernina Express & Red Train, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Throughout this enjoyable journey, we take in breathtaking views as we travel through the Alpine peaks, glaciers, bridges, and tunnels. This route, enhanced by photo stops, is one of the highest mountain railways in the world. At the end of our journey, we arrive in Tirano and continue by coach to Milan. Upon arrival, our panoramic city tour begins, featuring the Duomo Cathedral, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, La Scala Square, and the Brera district. Free time in the evening and overnight stay at our hotel.
Milan
After breakfast at our hotel, we depart for a city tour of Milan. During our panoramic Milan city tour, the Duomo Cathedral, considered the symbol of the city, Galleria, Scala Square, and La Fortezza will be among the places we visit. We will then have free time for shopping. Afterwards, we transfer to our hotel. Later, we depart for the Portofino & Outlet tour organized by our guide. Our first stop, Portofino, awaits us with charming views of yellow, orange, green, and red houses, set against a backdrop of lush green trees. We then head to Fidenza Village Outlet, where our guests can enjoy shopping at their leisure. At the end of the tour, we return to our hotel in Milan. Overnight at our hotel.
Milan - Como - Lugano - Geneva
After breakfast at our hotel, we depart for Lake Como, one of Northern Italy’s most popular destinations. Located at the foothills of the Alps, this glacial lake is famous for its elegant villas, chic cafés, and breathtaking views. Piazza Cavour and the historic Duomo Cathedral are among the highlights. We then cross into Switzerland and travel to the city of Lugano. Situated at the foothills of the Alps, Lugano reflects Switzerland’s Mediterranean spirit with its lake views, palm trees, and elegant squares. During our panoramic city tour, we will see Via Nassa shopping street, Parco Ciani, and the lakeside. After a short walk along the shores of Lake Lugano, we take a photo break. We continue our journey around noon and arrive in Geneva. At the end of the day, we transfer to our hotel and have free time. Overnight at our hotel.
Geneva - Lausanne - Montreux - Bern - Mulhouse
After breakfast at our hotel, we will take a city tour of Geneva. During our visit to Geneva, the main sights we will see include St. Pierre Cathedral, the Jet d’Eau fountain, which has become a symbol of Geneva and rises to a height of 140 meters, and the Reformation Wall. We will then depart for Lausanne. Lausanne, which holds a very important place in our national history as the host city of the Treaty of Lausanne, signed on July 24, 1923, is also one of the important episcopal centers of the Middle Ages. With its medieval castles, Château d’Ouchy, palaces, cathedrals, and museum buildings, Lausanne takes visitors deep into history, while its location on the shores of Lake Geneva further enhances its appeal. After a brief sightseeing tour of Lausanne, we will visit Montreux. Montreux, which is also very familiar to us from our national history, is an important city for the world of music, in addition to its castles, historic buildings, and natural beauty. The song “Smoke on the Water,” which left its mark on an era, tells the story of a casino fire in Montreux, and there is also a statue of Freddie Mercury, who continued his work here during the final years of his life. After our city tour of Montreux, we will view Château de Chillon panoramically, a symbol of Montreux, and take photographs of the postcard-perfect scenery. We will then depart for Bern. Bern is one of the few cities in Europe that has remained virtually unchanged since the Middle Ages. Due to its historic character, it is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Located within Switzerland and having German as its official language, Bern also reflects the influence of German culture in its architecture. After a short break in Bern, situated along the Aare River, we will spend the night at our hotel.
Mulhouse
After breakfast at our hotel, we set off for our Alsace Wonders tour of Colmar and Strasbourg. We will first visit the fairytale town of Colmar, where we will see the Old Customs House, the Pfister House, the colorful houses surrounding the River Rhine, and Petite Venise (Little Venice), the city’s most famous district. In this unique setting, surrounded by the Rhine and its canals, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of delicious foods to suit your taste and shop for numerous souvenirs. Our next stop will be Riquewihr, a village surrounded by the vineyards of the Alsace region, famous for its flower-filled balconies, distinctive rows of shops, pedestrian-only cobblestone streets, buildings that somehow survived World War II unscathed, and charming cafés. The village also features the Dolder Museum, located in a tower that preserves the history of the town through historical documents and resembles something out of a Grimm fairy tale. Riquewihr, the most visited village in the Alsace region, is considered the pearl of the area, with a population of approximately 1,100 and vineyards surrounding it. The grape harvest festivals, which begin every year in mid-September, add to the village’s appeal. Its typical German-style half-timbered houses, painted in pastel tones and decorated with flowers, line the cobblestoned main street, the Grand Rue, which gently slopes upward from the town’s entrance. After completing our visit here, we will continue to Strasbourg. We are now in the European Union’s second most important city after Brussels. Rich in history and culture, Strasbourg is the city of Gutenberg, Rouget de Lisle, the Dutch philosopher Erasmus, and the German writer Goethe. Strasbourg’s historic city center is located on the Grande Île, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. During our city tour, we will see Notre-Dame Cathedral and many other sights situated on an island surrounded by the river. In the southwest of this island lies Strasbourg’s most beautiful and fascinating district, La Petite France (Little France). This area, where the rivers converge, is filled with historic Renaissance-era houses and museums. After the tour, we will transfer to our hotel, followed by free time. Overnight at our hotel.
Mulhouse - Freiburg - Basel - Istanbul
After breakfast at our hotel, we travel to Freiburg, Germany’s beautiful university city. The Münsterplatz square, its 116-meter-high cathedral, Rathausplatz, and the Gerberau district are among the sights to be seen. We then continue to Basel. The Mittlere Rheinbrücke Bridge over the Rhine, the red sandstone Town Hall, Basel Minster, and the streets of the Old Town will be explored panoramically. In the evening, we transfer to the airport. We take our scheduled Turkish Airlines flight to Istanbul. Upon arrival, our tour comes to an end.
