Tour Program
Istanbul – Cairo – City Tour – Cairo
Our tour begins with a meeting at the International Departures Terminal of Istanbul Airport. After completing our ticketing, baggage, and boarding procedures, we depart for Cairo on an Air Cairo flight. Upon arriving in Cairo around noon, we begin our Panoramic Cairo City Tour with our private vehicle waiting for us. First, we enjoy a panoramic view of the Old Cairo city center, which reflects the city’s centuries-old Islamic heritage with its historic mosques, madrasas, stone structures, and lively streets. We then see the Mosque of Muhammad Ali, also known as the “Alabaster Mosque” due to its large dome, slender minarets, and alabaster-clad interior, rising within the Citadel of Saladin. Continuing our tour, we see the Unknown Soldier Memorial, built to commemorate the soldiers who lost their lives in the October 1973 War and one of the symbolic landmarks of modern Egyptian history. Afterwards, we see the Baron Empain Palace in the Heliopolis district, one of Cairo’s most distinctive buildings with its unusual design inspired by Indian and Khmer architecture, rich reliefs, and towered appearance, and take a photo break. We then see Tahrir Square, one of the most renowned squares in modern Egyptian history and an important center of the city’s administrative, political, and social life. In the final part of our tour, we head to Khan el-Khalili Bazaar, located in the heart of historic Cairo. Free time is provided at the bazaar, one of the city’s most colorful spots with its narrow streets, traditional handicraft shops, spice merchants, souvenir stalls, and lively atmosphere, allowing you to shop and explore the surroundings. After our free time, we transfer to our hotel. Overnight at our hotel.
Cairo – Grand Egyptian Museum – Pyramids – Sphinx – Cairo
After breakfast at our hotel, we depart for the Grand Egyptian Museum, Pyramids, and Sphinx Tour with lunch. We set out to discover the most important symbols of Cairo and the ancient Egyptian civilization. Our first stop will be the Grand Egyptian Museum, rising near the Giza Pyramids and regarded as the world’s largest museum dedicated to a single civilization. Combining contemporary architecture with the magnificent heritage of Ancient Egypt, the museum offers an opportunity to learn about the different periods of Egyptian civilization through thousands of years of artifacts, including the Tutankhamun galleries, statues of pharaohs, mummies, objects from daily life, royal treasures, and the funerary boats of Khufu. Following our museum visit, we will have lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, we proceed to the Giza Pyramids area, home to the Pyramid of Khufu, the only surviving structure among the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, as well as the pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure. We will see the pyramids, built during the Fourth Dynasty as monumental funerary complexes for the pharaohs, along with the impressive desert landscape surrounding them, and take photo breaks at designated points. Our tour continues with a visit to the Great Sphinx of Giza, carved from a single piece of limestone and symbolizing the power and wisdom of the pharaohs with its human head and lion’s body. Rising in front of the Pyramid of Khafre complex as if guarding the Giza Plateau for thousands of years, this monumental structure is one of the most mysterious and iconic works to have survived from Ancient Egypt to the present day. Following the tour, we transfer to our hotel. Overnight at our hotel.
Cairo – Alexandria – Cairo
After breakfast at our hotel in the morning, we depart for the Alexandria City Tour. Our first stop is Qaitbay Citadel, built by Mamluk Sultan Qaitbay in the 15th century on the site of the Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. With its strategic location on the Mediterranean coast, thick defensive walls, towers, and military architecture that protected Alexandria’s harbor throughout history, the citadel offers an insight into the city’s maritime past. We continue our tour at the Kom El-Dikka archaeological site, where we see the Ancient Roman Theater, one of the most important structures surviving from the city life of the Roman period, with its semicircular marble seating rows and columns. The ancient bathhouse, residential remains, and mosaics surrounding the theater shed light on Alexandria’s social and cultural life during the Roman and Byzantine periods. We then visit the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, one of Alexandria’s most impressive ancient sites, featuring three levels of underground burial chambers, spiral staircases, and unique architecture that combines Egyptian, Greek, and Roman artistic traditions in its decorations. The reliefs, statues, and sections used for funeral ceremonies reflect the legacy of the period when the city was a meeting point of different civilizations. Our final stop is Pompey’s Pillar, rising on the site of the magnificent Serapeum Temple, which was dedicated to the ancient god Serapis. Although popularly known as Pompey’s Pillar, this monumental column, made of red Aswan granite, was erected in honor of the Roman Emperor Diocletian. We also see the ancient ruins surrounding it. After completing our tour, we return to our hotel. Upon arrival, we have free time. Overnight at our hotel.
Cairo – Istanbul
After breakfast, which will be provided as a packed meal at our hotel, we will transfer to Cairo Airport and complete our ticketing and baggage procedures for our scheduled Air Cairo flight to Istanbul. Upon arrival at Istanbul Airport, our tour and services will come to an end.
