Located approximately 70 kilometers outside the city, the Cu Chi Tunnels are a tunnel system built by the North Vietnamese during the Vietnam–U.S. War, one of the most dramatic events in recent history. Our first stop is the Koh Ker Pyramid Temple, rising at the heart of the ancient settlement that briefly served as the capital of the Khmer Empire in the 10th century and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With its stepped architecture reaching approximately 38 meters in height and symbolizing the sacred Mount Meru, this monumental structure is one of Cambodia’s most extraordinary temples, surrounded by vast forest landscapes. We then visit Prasat Pram, hidden among dense tropical vegetation and consisting of three brick sanctuaries and two library structures. At this temple, where the roots of enormous trees have enveloped some of the towers over the centuries, nature and ancient Khmer architecture come together in an impressive way. We take a photo break here. Following our tour, we have lunch at a local restaurant and then transfer to our hotel. Overnight at our hotel.

We then visit Baphuon Temple, built in the 11th century and considered an important example of temple-mountain architecture. Afterwards, we explore Bayon Temple, located in the heart of Angkor Thom and famous for its more than 200 faces carved onto 54 towers. Our program continues with Ta Prohm Temple. Built in the 12th century, this temple stands out with the sight of immense tropical tree roots merging with its stone walls and has been preserved in its largely unrestored state. During our visit, we also see the Terrace of the Leper King, where royal ceremonies were held, and the Terrace of the Elephants, which hosted official processions featuring elephants. We have lunch at a local restaurant serving regional specialties. In the afternoon, we visit Angkor Wat, considered the largest religious monument in human history. Built in the 12th century by King Suryavarman II, this विशाल complex covers an area of 162 hectares and is regarded as the pinnacle of Khmer architecture. The reliefs and detailed carvings in its galleries depict scenes from Hindu mythology. At the end of our tour, we transfer to our hotel. Overnight at our hotel.
Siem Reap – Tonle Sap – Siem Reap – Phnom Penh
After breakfast at our hotel, we depart for a boat tour of Tonle Sap Lake. With a surface area that varies from 2,500 km² to as much as 16,000 km² during the monsoon rains, the lake is one of the most important ecosystems not only in Cambodia but throughout the region. Thanks to its connection with the Mekong River, Tonle Sap is home to one of the world’s rare waterways whose flow changes direction. During our boat tour, we observe the communities built on the lake up close. Tens of thousands of families living around the lake have earned their livelihoods from fishing and the trade of aquatic products for centuries. The traditional houses built on stilts in the region are elevated on high supports to adapt to seasonal changes in water levels. There are also floating houses, primary schools, small shops, and even floating clinics on the lake. Tonle Sap alone accounts for approximately 75% of Cambodia’s freshwater fishing and is the country’s largest food source. Throughout our boat tour, we have the opportunity to observe this unique way of life in an organized manner. Following the tour, we transfer by private vehicle to Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia and the country’s political, cultural, and economic center. Located at the confluence of the Mekong and Tonle Sap rivers, the city stands out with its traditional Khmer architecture, French colonial buildings, broad boulevards, and vibrant urban life. Upon arrival, we transfer to our hotel and enjoy free time. Overnight at our hotel.

First, we see the Royal Palace, notable for the elegant details of its traditional Khmer architecture and used as the official residence of the Cambodian royal family since the 19th century. We then visit Wat Phnom, one of Phnom Penh’s most important landmarks, associated with the city’s founding legend, and see the Independence Monument, designed with inspiration from traditional Khmer architecture, where we take a photo break. We continue our city tour with panoramic views of Phnom Penh’s lively streets, urban fabric spanning the colonial period to the present day, and modern capital life. At the end of the tour, we transfer to Phnom Penh Airport and complete our ticketing and baggage procedures for our scheduled Turkish Airlines flight to Istanbul. We will spend the night on the plane.
