Tour Program
Istanbul - Kathmandu
After meeting at Istanbul Airport International Terminal, we complete our baggage, ticket, and passport procedures and take our scheduled Turkish Airlines flight to Kathmandu. On our journey toward Nepal’s enchanting atmosphere, we spend the night on the plane.
Kathmandu - Nagarkot
Upon our arrival in Kathmandu, we are greeted at the airport and leave the terminal to enjoy our buffet breakfast at a hotel near the airport. After breakfast and a short rest, we begin our city tour of Kathmandu, the mysterious city of the Himalayas. Today we will visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, the cultural center of the city, which hosts many historic monuments including the former royal palace, the Golden Gate, and various temples. In this square, we will have the opportunity to see up close numerous historical structures and temples listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites and admire the intricacies of Nepal’s traditional architecture. After our tour, we proceed to Nagarkot, located at an altitude of approximately 2,200 meters above sea level. In this region, famous for its panoramic views of the Himalayas, it is possible, especially in clear weather, to see many peaks from afar, including Everest. Upon arrival in Nagarkot, we transfer to our hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at our hotel.
Nagarkot
After breakfast at our hotel, we depart for Changunarayan Temple. Changu Narayan, also known as Changu or Dolagiri, is situated atop a high hill and is one of the most important sacred sites dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Set in a natural environment surrounded by champak trees and within the traditional fabric of Changu village, this temple is regarded as one of the oldest temples in Nepal and is highly revered by the Hindu community. After visiting the temple, we take a gentle walk from Changu Narayan to Telkot. Continuing our tour, we head to Bhaktapur, also known as a museum of medieval art and architecture, with many statues, wood carvings, and massive pagoda temples dedicated to various gods and goddesses. Bhaktapur Durbar Square is one of the valley’s most captivating architectural treasures, as it highlights Nepal’s ancient arts. Golden statues of kings perched atop stone monoliths, guardian deities gazing from their shrines, and wood carvings everywhere—brackets, lintels, struts, tympanums, gateways, and windows—seem to form a well-orchestrated symphony. Pottery and weaving are still the main traditional crafts that remain vibrant today. After the tour, and the free time we will give, we return to our hotel in Nagarkot. Dinner and overnight stay at our hotel.
Nagarkot - Kathmandu
Before breakfast, we will refresh our energy with yoga and meditation led by our private yoga instructor. Afterwards, we will take a tour of Patan, one of the oldest settlements in the Kathmandu Valley, known as the “City of Fine Arts.” This historic center, notable for its rich architecture and craftsmanship, and the stupa temples located throughout the city and believed to have been built by King Ashoka, one of the famous rulers of the period, reflect Patan’s religious and cultural importance. In this city, where Hindu and Buddhist architecture can be seen side by side, there will also be an opportunity to find handmade objects and souvenirs produced using traditional methods. After our tour, we will head to the Budhanath Temple and visit this sacred structure, which holds great importance for Buddhist monks. With its विशाल stupa architecture and surrounding monasteries, Budhanath is regarded as one of the most important centers of Buddhism in Nepal. We then continue our tour to Pashupatinath, one of the most important Hindu temples in the world. Here, we will closely observe the daily worship life of Hindus and have the opportunity to witness the traditional cremation ceremonies performed on the banks of the Bagmati River. After this visit, which offers striking scenes especially for photography enthusiasts, we will transfer to our hotel in Kathmandu to rest from the day’s fatigue. Dinner and accommodation will be at our hotel.
Kathmandu
After breakfast at our hotel, we depart for our Monkey Temple (Swayambhunath) tour. Considered one of the oldest and most mystical sacred sites in the Kathmandu Valley, this structure can be seen from many points of the valley with its tall white dome and shining golden spire. According to historical records on stone inscriptions, the stupa has been an important Buddhist pilgrimage center since the 5th century AD. Swayambhunath Stupa is also known as the “Monkey Temple” because of the hundreds of monkeys living around it, in addition to the visits of pilgrims and monks. After our tour of this impressive sacred site, where Buddhist and Hindu symbols can be seen together, we return to our hotel. Dinner and accommodation at our hotel.
Kathmandu
After the breakfast we will have at the hotel, we head to Chandragiri Hill, which offers breathtaking views of the entire Kathmandu Valley covered with lush greenery and a striking peak. We will take a cable car up to the hill, where we can enjoy panoramic views of the Himalayas stretching from Annapurna to Everest. Afterwards, we turn our route to the Pharping region, known for its natural beauty, temples, and monastery. We will visit Asura Cave, an ancient meditation cave where, according to legend, Guru Padmasambhava meditated, and one of the most important Hindu temples dedicated to the goddess Dakshinkali. After touring this temple, which is considered one of the spiritual power centers in the country, we proceed to Khokana, an old Newar settlement located about 30 km from Kathmandu, distinguished by its typical red-brick houses and tiled roofs. Following our city tour in this town, which is almost like an open-air museum where we can closely observe Newari culture, traditions, architecture, and handicrafts, we return to our hotel to rest. Dinner and accommodation at our hotel.
Kathmandu - Istanbul
After our packed breakfast at the hotel, we depart for Kathmandu Airport. Upon arrival at the airport, after completing our passport, baggage, and check-in procedures, we take our return flight on Turkish Airlines’ scheduled Kathmandu-Istanbul service. After our arrival in Istanbul, our tour and services come to an end.
