We will visit this magnificent structure, also known as Lion Rock, featuring symmetrical water gardens, elegant frescoes carved into the rock surface, the Mirror Wall with its once-polished surface that allowed visitors to see their reflections, historic staircases accessed through giant lion paws, and breathtaking panoramic views of the endless forest from the summit. Afterward, we will head to Anuradhapura Ancient City, another UNESCO World Heritage Site that remained the political and religious center of Sri Lanka for approximately 13 centuries. During our exploration of this ancient city, which showcases the country's deep-rooted Buddhist heritage through majestic stupas, vast monastic complexes, palaces and prayer halls surrounded by stone pillars, sacred reservoirs, and archaeological remains spread across a wide area, we will see the Sri Maha Bodhi Tree, believed to have been grown from a sapling of the sacred fig tree under which Buddha attained enlightenment in Bodh Gaya, India, as well as ancient monasteries that served as centers for Buddhist monks' education and worship for centuries. Continuing our journey, we will proceed to the Matale Spice Garden to experience Sri Lanka's centuries-old tradition of spice production.
