After breakfast at our hotel, we set off for our Esztergom & Visegrád & Szentendre tour. Our first stop is Esztergom Castle, which holds special importance in both Hungarian and Ottoman history and is known as the “guardian” of the Danube. We visit Esztergom Castle, captured by the Ottoman army under the command of Suleiman the Magnificent in 1543, as well as Esztergom Basilica, built on top of it and the largest church in Hungary. After our visit, we continue along a route offering the most beautiful views of the Danube, passing Visegrád Castle, which was built to stop armies advancing from the east. We then go to Szentendre Artists’ Village, where we will have the opportunity to buy all kinds of Hungarian souvenirs at reasonable prices, and after an introduction to the village, we allow free time for shopping. After meeting again, we leave Szentendre, return to Budapest, the capital of the country that remained under Ottoman rule for 145 years and emerged in 1873 with the unification of Buda and Pest, and continue our sightseeing. Budapest - Baden - Seegrotte - Vienna
After breakfast at our hotel, we depart from Budapest and, with short breaks along the way and a pleasant journey, set off for Vienna, the most aristocratic city in Europe and the center of a vast empire that witnessed the 640-year rule of the Habsburg Dynasty. On our route, we visit Baden, one of Austria’s most characteristic towns, the city of spas and nature, where Beethoven composed his 9th Symphony. After completing our tour of the city and having some free time, we head to the Vienna Woods, which begin 21 km south of Vienna, and enjoy a panoramic view of the 12th-century Liechtenstein Castle. Through the charming villages nestled in Vienna’s lush green nature, we continue our pleasant journey to one of the most fascinating parts of our tour: Seegrotte, the largest underground lake in Europe. We visit the cave and take a boat trip on the underground lake. Originally established in the mid-18th century to extract limestone, the site was closed after an explosion in 1912. Although it was later revived by a private company, its greater significance came during World War II, when it was purchased by the German army’s Heinkel company and turned into an underground aircraft factory by draining its waters. Used in the production of the front fuselages of the Salamander 162 warplanes, Seegrotte was blown up in 1945 and rendered unusable. After the dark war years, it was restored and made usable again, taking on its current form in which it can be visited by boat. After experiencing Seegrotte and listening to our guide’s explanations, we head to Vienna, the heart of music, architecture, painting, and sculpture, a city that stood resilient even during the harsh days of the World Wars and preserved none of its elegance, offering a unique synthesis of Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, Neo-Classical, and Art Nouveau artistic movements, and with its long boulevards, resembles an open-air museum. Upon arrival, we make a brief introduction and orientation tour, then give free time. After the free time, we check into our hotel. Accommodation at our hotel in Vienna.
Vienna - Izmir - Antalya
After having breakfast at our hotel, we check out of our rooms and begin exploring Vienna on this final day. Among the places we will see are the Academy of Applied Arts, where Austria’s world-famous painter Gustav Klimt studied and taught, the Kursalon concert hall, Bristol Hotel where Atatürk also stayed, the State Opera House, Maria Theresia Square, the Museum of Art History, the Natural History Museum, the Parliament, City Hall (Rathaus), the magnificent buildings of Vienna University, and Hofburg Palace. After completing our tour, we begin our Schönbrunn Palace & Hundertwasser Houses & Vienna Woods excursion. First, accompanied by explanations, we visit panoramically Schönbrunn Palace and Gardens, whose construction was begun by Emperor Leopold at the end of the 17th century, which served as the summer palace of the Habsburg dynasty, and which was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1996. After this program, we visit the Hundertwasser Art Houses, one of the city’s most striking contemporary artistic landmarks with their asymmetrical architectural elements, and then we have free time for shopping and lunch on Mariahilferstrasse, Vienna’s famous shopping street. We then head to Vienna Airport by our vehicle for our return journey. We complete our passport and baggage procedures and take our flight with SunExpress Airlines. When the calendar passes midnight and shows the date of the next day, we arrive in Izmir. Upon arrival at Adnan Menderes Airport, we collect our luggage and prepare for our Antalya flight. After completing our check-in and baggage procedures again, we take our flight with SunExpress Airlines and arrive in Antalya. We say goodbye, hoping to meet again on another tour program.
