Tour Program
Antalya - Izmir - Padua
We meet at Antalya Airport at the specified meeting time in the morning. After our check-in and baggage procedures, we depart for Izmir on a SunExpress Airlines flight. After a journey of approximately one hour, we arrive at Adnan Menderes Airport and collect our baggage. We regroup at the International Terminal of Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport, where we complete our passport control, second check-in, and baggage drop procedures for our flight to Venice. We then fly to Venice, the city of canals rather than roads and of water rather than stone. Upon arrival at local time, we head to Padua, a city that has shaped European history through science, art, and faith, and yet remains deeply quiet and full of lasting traces. In this city, which is very close to Venice, we will take an orientation tour and then have free time for dinner. After a pleasant evening, we settle into our 4-star hotel.
Bologna - Florence
After having breakfast at our hotel in the morning, we check out of our rooms and set off to visit Bologna, also known as the Red City, nicknamed “La Dotta, La Grassa, La Rossa” — meaning the Learned, the Fat, and the Red. Among the places we may see are Piazza Maggiore, the Asinelli and Garisenda Towers, which survived earthquakes from the 200 towers that once stood, the Neptune Fountain, which has become the city’s symbol, the Basilica of San Petronio, the Basilica of Santo Stefano, Palazzo del Podestà, which serves as the city’s town hall, and the University of Bologna, founded in 1088 and considered the oldest university in Europe. After our guide’s commentary here, we allow free time for shopping and a coffee break. We then continue to Florence, the capital of the Tuscany Region, which is regarded as not merely a transit point of the Renaissance but as the place where it was born, and is virtually an open-air museum. Upon arrival, we begin our tour of Florence. We see the Florence Cathedral, famous for its dome and built between 1296 and 1436, considered one of the first major architectural works of the Renaissance; we photograph, with our guide’s explanations, the Basilica of Santa Croce, the Italian National Library, and the most important church of the Franciscan order, also known as the “Temple of Italian Glory” because it houses the tombs of famous Italians such as Michelangelo, Galileo, Dante, Machiavelli, Foscolo, Gentile, Rossini, and Marconi. From there, we proceed to Piazza della Signoria, which resembles an open-air museum thanks to the many statues adorning it. After seeing the breathtaking works there, including the bronze Perseus statue made by Benvenuto Cellini, we continue to the Old Bridge and the Republic Square, known for its street performers and famous cafés, then allow free time for strolling and shopping, and settle into our 4-star hotel in this city, where every corner bears the signature of a master.
Orvieto - Nemi & Castel Gandolfo - Designer Outlet Castel Romano - Rome
After breakfast at our hotel in Florence, we head to Orvieto, our small but remarkably impressive stop in Umbria, built on tufa rock and with layered historical periods ranging from the Etruscans to the Medieval Papacy. Described as a medieval marvel perched above a cliff, we take the funicular up to Orvieto along a route surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, and lush green landscapes to reach the Duomo (Orvieto Cathedral), whose construction began in 1290 and which features colorful mosaics and sculptures on its façade and Luca Signorelli’s frescoes on the theme of the Last Judgment inside. After listening to our guide’s explanations here, we enjoy free time and then return the way we came, continuing south toward Rome. In the Alban Hills, we arrive at Nemi, a town clinging to the shores of the volcanic Lake Nemi, with narrow streets, the scent of wild strawberries, and nostalgic viewing terraces. We begin our walking tour amid natural beauty and lake views of the Alban Crater. After this peaceful, quiet, and postcard-like break, we allow free time for our guests who wish to taste the wild strawberry tarts. At the end of the free time, we visit Castel Gandolfo, regarded as the “balcony of the lake” and giving the area its official character. After seeing the Papal Palace of Castel Gandolfo, used for centuries as the summer residence of the popes, we make a photo stop and then head to Designer Outlet Castel Romano, a shopping village where famous brands offer attractive discounts. Guests may take advantage of shopping and special offers, while those who wish can enjoy a meal or coffee. After this pleasant time, we transfer to our 4-star hotel to rest for the next day’s Vatican and full-day Rome tour.
Full Rome and Vatican
After breakfast at our hotel, we head to Vatican City, one of the world’s smallest independent states, with an area of 44 hectares. In the spiritual center of the Catholic faith, we listen to our guide’s explanations and, for those who wish, visit St. Peter’s Basilica. After our Vatican tour, we go to see the Colosseum, one of the symbols of Rome, one of the oldest cities in the world. The Colosseum has served throughout history not only as a venue for gladiator fights, but also for many public spectacles, mock naval battles, animal hunts, executions, reenactments of famous wars, and dramas based on classical mythology. After touring this most famous arena of the ancient world, we follow the Roman Palace and arrive at Palazzo di Venezia along our route. Following a short photo stop, we visit the Pantheon, which was built in Ancient Rome as a temple for all gods, was used as a church after the 7th century, and contains the tombs of important figures in Italian history, including Vittorio Emanuele II. We continue our tour by seeing Piazza Navona, which also contains the remains of the ancient Domitian Stadium and is famous for the Fountain of the Four Rivers (Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi) at its center; then we proceed to the Trevi Fountain, one of the most famous fountains in the world, also known as the Fountain of Love. After our lunch break here, we meet again and walk toward the Spanish Steps, which have existed since the 17th century and take their name from the Spanish Embassy; we then provide free time in the area with famous brand stores and cafés. At the end of our Rome tour, we return to our hotel.
Rome - Siena - San Gimignano - Pisa
On our last day in Rome, after having breakfast at our hotel and checking out of our rooms, we set off to visit Siena, which is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. After short photo stops along the way, we arrive in Siena, a city that still bears the historical traces of the Middle Ages in its structure, and begin our tour. We start our visit in this city, famous for the horse races called the Palio, traditionally held every year around Piazza del Campo. We enjoy a walking tour, seeing Siena Cathedral, one of the most impressive churches in Italy. We complete our tour in Campo Square, considered one of the largest among medieval squares in Europe, where the City Hall and the Mangia Tower, the second tallest tower in Italy at 102 meters, are located, and then we give free time. After our break, we head to San Gimignano, a medieval town rising among the Tuscan Hills, known for its stone towers and where time seems to have almost stood still. After a short journey, we begin exploring this UNESCO World Heritage-listed town, which was once famous for its more than 70 towers symbolizing the power of wealthy families. At Piazza della Cisterna, considered the heart of the town, we finish our walking tour among stone arches and narrow streets, and then depart for Pisa, home to the world-famous Leaning Tower, which is also on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Along with the tower, whose fame overshadows even the city it stands in and the church it belongs to, we visit Pisa Cathedral, the Camposanto Monumental Cemetery, the Baptistery of St. John, and the Piazza dei Miracoli with our guide’s explanations, and then provide free time. After free time, where we can take beautiful photos and buy souvenir gifts, we meet again and check into our 4-star hotel.
Pisa - La Spezia - Cinque Terre - Rapallo - Portofino - Santa Margherita - Milan
After having our breakfast at our hotel in Pisa, we head to explore one of Italy’s most photogenic regions. We depart for La Spezia, considered the gateway to Cinque Terre, the UNESCO World Heritage region made up of colorful villages clinging to the Ligurian coast. At the train station, where our guide accompanies us, we board the train and set off for this feast of nature that will reveal the unique beauty of the Gulf of Poets. Riomaggiore, the most popular and most impressive village, considered the entrance to our exploration route, becomes our first breathtaking stop with its colorful houses stretching along a narrow valley, small harbor, and rugged cliffs. After arriving by train, we take a walking tour and complete our visit to Riomaggiore, with its brightly colored houses stacked one above the other and regarded as the starting point of the Via dell’Amore; then we board the train again and continue to another famous village. After a short train ride, we arrive at Monterosso al Mare, a charming town that stands out with the giant Neptune figure carved into the rock and, unlike the other villages, has a more horizontal layout; we begin exploring its seaside promenade, chapels, churches, squares, and famous beaches. Following our free time in this town, famous for seafood and especially lemon desserts, we once again take our seats on the train and continue toward Rapallo, the port town from which we will travel by boat to Portofino. Upon arrival, we board our waiting boat for a pleasant and short journey to Portofino, with its small harbor surrounded by colorful houses, the village that inspired and gave its name to the unforgettable 1960s song, and one of Italy’s and Europe’s most iconic places. In this fishing town, after learning about the Romanesque-style Chiesa di San Martino Church in the center and Castello Brown, which we can photograph from a distance, through our guide’s explanations, we are given free time. Afterwards, we return by boat to Santa Margherita and, accompanied by our guide, enjoy a pleasant late-afternoon break in this coastal town on the Ligurian Riviera, with its pastel-colored houses and palm-lined seafront, offering beauty that rivals Portofino. After this enjoyable time, we arrive in Milan, Italy’s second-largest city after Rome, and check into our 4-star hotel.
Milan - Verona - Padua
After having breakfast at our hotel, we begin our walking tour in Milan, known as the country’s fashion and also art and lyrical opera center, by seeing the Sforza Castle, built in the 15th century by Milan’s Duke Francesco Sforza. We visit the La Scala Theatre, where Verdi, one of the most famous composers of Italian opera, staged his last opera; the Monument and Museum of Leonardo da Vinci, who lived in Milan for 17 years; and the Vittorio Emanuele II Gallery, one of the oldest shopping arcades in the world and home to famous fashion stores. We complete our walking tour by seeing the Milan Cathedral (Duomo di Milano), the fourth largest cathedral in Europe, in Piazza del Duomo, the city’s most central square. Afterwards, we depart for Verona, located in the Veneto Region, a city that has become a symbol among Italy’s romantic cities and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We arrive in Verona, known as the city of Shakespeare’s legendary lovers Romeo and Juliet, which will enchant you with its romantic atmosphere. On our walking tour here, the places we will see include the Verona Arena (Arena di Verona), the world’s third largest arena and a venue where theatrical plays were once performed; Juliet’s House (Casa di Giulietta), believed to be where Romeo and Juliet once lived and famous for its most striking balcony, where you can take many souvenir photos; Castelvecchio, the Old Castle; Verona Cathedral, built in Gothic style in the 15th century; Teatro Romano, which was uncovered through archaeological excavations carried out between 1904 and 1930 and is now home to the Verona Jazz Festival; Ponte Pietra; and the Basilica of San Zeno. We will have free time on the street that connects Piazza delle Erbe and Bra Square (Via Mazzini – Piazza Bra), where we may encounter traditional Italian street musicians and enjoy shopping at the stores lined along the way. Then, we board our waiting vehicle and, after a short journey of approximately 1 hour, travel to Padua and check into our 4-star hotel.
Padua - Full Day Venice - Izmir - Antalya
After having breakfast at our hotel, we set off for Venice, the capital of the Republic of Venice, which was one of the most important powers at sea during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance and the center of art and trade from the 13th century until the late 17th century, where we can enjoy a pleasant visit until our evening flight. Upon arrival, we board the vaporetto for our transfer through Venice and begin our tour of this unique city, built around 45 canals connected to the Grand Canal. During our tour, we see the Vittorio Emanuele II Monument, the Bridge of Sighs, named after the legend that prisoners being taken to prison would sigh at their last view of Venice, the Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the political center of the Republic of Venice, and the Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana, one of Italy’s largest national libraries, before arriving at St. Mark’s Square, the symbol of Venice. After seeing St. Mark’s Basilica, one of the best-known examples of Byzantine architecture and referred to as the “Golden Church” because of its rich Byzantine mosaics, we complete our tour.
