After arriving in the city, we set off on a panoramic St. Petersburg tour, where we will begin exploring this unique city that captivates visitors with its elegance, architecture, and history. Founded in 1703 by Russian Tsar Peter I, St. Petersburg is a city that enchants guests at first glance with its magnificent buildings, wide avenues, and impressive history. On our panoramic tour, we proceed along Nevsky Prospect, the city’s most important boulevard, which, at 4.5 kilometers long, reflects the very soul of the city. Named after Alexander Nevsky, one of the most famous heroes in Russian history, this boulevard is the beating heart of St. Petersburg. The architectural masterpieces encountered along the boulevard reveal the city’s historical richness. First, we see the Admiralty Building, distinguished by its golden dome; then we admire the elegant structure of the magnificent Kazan Cathedral, built as a small replica of the famous St. Peter’s Cathedral in Rome. Throughout our tour, we also have the opportunity to see the striking architecture of Beloselsky-Belozersky Palace, the elegance of the Stroganov Palace, and Gostiny Dvor, with its approximately 250-year history as one of the city’s most important commercial centers, now transformed into a modern shopping mall.
One of the most remarkable structures reflecting the art-filled atmosphere of St. Petersburg is the Russian National Library, followed by the Singer Building, whose founding story is of special interest, the Eliseyev Building dazzling with its magnificent stained glass and bronze details, and Aurora Cinema, frequently mentioned in the memoirs of writer Nabokov, all enriching the visual splendor of our tour. In addition, the famous Anichkov Bridge, which has become an important part of Russian literature and bears traces of the Siege of Leningrad, offers us glimpses from different periods of history throughout the tour. After this fast and impressive journey through St. Petersburg’s past and present, we transfer to our hotel and check into our rooms. Transfer to our hotel after the tour. Overnight at our hotel.
