ÜSKÜP – PRİŞTİNE -SULTAN MURAT TÜRBESİ- PRİZEN

We visit the türbe (mausoleum) located in Pristina, the capital of Kosovo, where Ottoman Sultan Murad I Hüdavendigar, who was martyred in the Battle of Kosovo in 1389, has his internal organs buried. We also visit the Selamlık building next to the türbe, which is now used as a museum. Inside the building, we have the opportunity to see photos of Sultan Reşad's visit in 1911, when he made his last visit to the Balkans. While traveling from the türbe towards Prizren, we see the square and the monument located along our route, where Yugoslav President Slobodan Milošević launched his election campaign on the 600th anniversary of the Kosovo War in 1989 and first used the expression "Greater Serbia," which later led to the downfall of Yugoslavia. After a journey of one and a half hours, we arrive in Prizren, the second-largest city in Kosovo, known for its many Ottoman monuments. We begin our city tour of Prizren. On this walking tour accompanied by our guide, we will visit: Halveti Tekke, Gazi Mehmet Pasha Hamam, Namazgah where Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror prayed with his army, Bayraklı Mosque, Maraş neighborhood and Maraş Bridge, the 400-year-old great plane tree, Emin Pasha Mosque, the Turkish Consulate General building in Prizren, Taş Köprü (Stone Bridge) over the Bistrica (Akdere) River, Şadırvan Square, Sinan Pasha Mosque, St. George Church and Catholic Churches, Arasta Mosque Minaret (the mosque was destroyed during the Yugoslav era but its minaret survived), and the Serbian quarter where we can still see the destructive effects of the war. After our tour, we have free time to enjoy this beautiful city. Later, at the time determined by our guide, we depart for dinner and then proceed to our hotel in Prizen for overnight accommodation.
