Among the structures to be visited, the most famous one, the Kukulkan Pyramid, which was selected as one of the Seven Wonders of the World in 2007, owes its fame primarily to the scientific observations used in its architectural construction. Each step of the pyramid built by the Maya hundreds of years ago represents one of the 365 days of the year. Afterwards, we will visit a cenote. You should experience these underground pools, legendary for the ritual of throwing sacrifices and objects into the cenote for the rain god Chaac, and offering both stunning natural beauty and swimming opportunities. After our tour, we continue on to Mérida. Upon arrival, we check in to our hotel. Overnight stay at our hotel in Mérida.

### Merida - Uxmal - Campeche

Palenque, one of the world’s most impressive ancient sites, also contains some of the finest examples of Mayan Classic Period architecture, sculpture, and reliefs in Mexico and Central America. We learn that the city experienced its golden age during the reign of its greatest ruler, Pacal, who governed for 68 years in the 7th century. Among its many structures, we visit the most magnificent ones: the Great Palace, the Temple of Inscriptions-Pyramid, from which King Pakal’s tomb was excavated, and the Temple of the Sun. Shaped over millions of years by the erosion of the Grijalva River, this spectacular gorge creates a breathtaking scene with sheer rock walls reaching over 1,000 meters in places. Flowing through Chiapas and Tabasco states before reaching the Gulf of Mexico, the river’s waters form a unique natural corridor along the canyon. From the viewpoints (miradores), we have the opportunity to admire the deep valley, steep slopes, and rich vegetation from above. After this exploration, where we feel the power and grandeur of nature, we return to our hotel and spend the night there.

### Tuxtla - Santo Domingo Tehuantepec

After breakfast, we depart from our hotel and set off on a scenic road journey to Santo Domingo Tehuantepec. Upon arrival in this warm and colorful Zapotec town, which was the second most important city in the region after Oaxaca during the colonial period, we begin our exploration. First, we visit the magnificent Santo Domingo Church and Old Convent, built by Dominican friars in the mid-16th century, as well as the building converted into San Pedro Cathedral. Then we stop in front of the impressive seven-meter-tall Tehuana Woman Monument made of stainless steel at the town entrance, where we take a pleasant photo break in front of this monument symbolizing the region’s strong female culture and the identity of the Tehuana woman, famous for her hand-embroidered huipiles. If possible, we will have the chance to stroll through the local market and see local handicrafts. After our full day of discovery, we check into our hotel and spend the night in Santo Domingo Tehuantepec. Accommodation at our hotel.

We then explore Puebla Cathedral, which stands out with its magnificent architecture and combines Baroque and Renaissance influences, and is regarded as one of the most impressive cathedrals in Latin America. We continue our tour with Capilla del Rosario, famous for its gold embellishments and intricate decorations and known as the “Eighth Wonder of the New World”; its enchanting interior takes visitors seemingly beyond time. We then enjoy free time at Parian Market, one of the city’s most colorful stops; Talavera ceramics, handmade items, and souvenirs await you in this authentic market. After our city tour, we transfer to our hotel to rest. Overnight at our hotel.

### Puebla - Mexico City

After breakfast at the hotel, we begin our journey to Mexico City. During the tour, we visit very important historical monuments such as the Pyramid of the Sun, the Pyramid of the Moon, and the Avenue of the Dead. Different views have been put forward regarding the founding date of this ancient city, whose builders and the reason for its sudden abandonment still remain unclear. The layout of the structures in Teotihuacan was arranged to be the reflection of the Orion constellation on the ground, much like the pyramids in Giza, and also, starting from the Temple of Quetzalcoatl, to be the reflection of the planets on the ground. After our tour of these magical places, we transfer to our hotel in Mexico City. Overnight at our hotel.

### Mexico City

Our tour will begin with the historic center of the city, which has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List: the huge Constitution Square, known as the Zócalo; the Metropolitan Cathedral, built on the site of an Aztec temple; and the National Palace, where the murals of famous artist Diego Rivera telling the history of Mexico are among the places we will see. After our panoramic city tour, we set out to visit the world-famous National Museum of Anthropology. In this museum, where archaeological and anthropological artifacts from pre-Columbian Mexico are exhibited, the Sun Stone and the Xochipilli Statue are among the most striking pieces. Afterwards, we will visit the Frida Kahlo Museum. Frida Kahlo, the Mexican painter who became an icon of twentieth-century popular culture, explains why she painted self-portraits with these words: “I paint myself because I am so often alone and because I am the subject I know best.” Frida Kahlo, whom Picasso said, “We do not know how to paint human faces like her,” and whose painting was also purchased by the Louvre Museum, welcomes visitors from all around the world every year at “La Casa Azul – The Blue House,” which contains approximately 300 of her belongings.
